We know a lot of folks who travel to Disney World are big fans of Southwest Airlines.

The airline is popular for many reasons, including its reasonable costs, its good rewards program, its free checked bags policy, and more. But now there’s ANOTHER reason to like Southwest Airlines: its policy to accommodate passengers.
Southwest Airlines has been recently celebrated for its policy for “customers of size,” allowing passengers to request free additional seats in addition to the ones they paid for. The policy allows passengers to purchase additional seats if they need to proactively and then get a refund for those additional seats after travel. Here’s the official policy on Southwest Airlines’ website:

Customers are encouraged to purchase the additional seats in advance to give Southwest an idea of what they need for plane capacity and to plan accordingly. However, for passengers who don’t repurchase extra seats in advance, Southwest suggests purchasing just one seat and then talking with the Customer Service Agent at the departure gate. If a second or third seat is needed, that passenger will be accommodated with those additional seats at no additional charge.

During boarding, customers who have access to additional seats are encouraged “to preboard to locate adequate seating and place the Seat Reserved Document in the adjacent seat.” They can also ask a Southwest employee for help if needed.

For more information, visit the Southwest website’s Help Center.
