5 BIG Disney News Stories from This Week

There have been a LOT of big announcements from Disney this week.

We know how hard it is to keep up with all the news, especially when there’s just so much of it, so we’re going to help you out — here are the five biggest Disney news stories from this week!

Return of Traditional Character Meet and Greets

Due to the global health crisis, character meet and greets at Disney Parks, on Disney Cruise Line, and at other properties were modified to allow characters to maintain social distancing from guests. However, that’s about to change and you’ll soon be able to hug Mickey (and others) again at Disney World, Disneyland, on Disney Cruises, and at Aulani!

Traditional meet and greets will return as of April 18th. Disney has also teased the return of traditional character meet and greets during character dining experiences, too.

2022 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival

Disney World also dropped a TON of details about the 2022 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, including the dates. This year, the festival will run from July 14th to November 19th, 2022. Five food booths have also been confirmed as returning to this year’s event.

This year’s festival will also bring back the Eat to the Beat concert series, along with Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak Scavenger Hunt and Emile’s Fromage Montage.

Menu Released For Connections Cafe

We’ve been following all the updates and construction for EPCOT’s upcoming quick-service restaurant, Connections Cafe. However, this week, Disney revealed the menu with prices for the dining spot. Guests will be able to dine on burgers, chicken sandwiches, pizzas, salads, and a waffle dessert.

First Look At The Queue for Guardians of The Galaxy Ride

Another upcoming thing at EPCOT we’re excited about is the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride. This week, Disney revealed a first look at the INSIDE of the ride and its queue, the Galaxarium.

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue Will Return To Disney World

Although we’re having to say goodbye to the Spirit of Aloha dinner show at Disney World, another classic show will be making its return soon. The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue will reopen on June 23rd at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

Guests wanting to make reservations for that date and later can do so as of May 26th. Disney also announced that the show has received a few updates to its script and scenery.
