Since Disney World first reopened in 2020 after closing for the pandemic, the parks have been making a big push to going mobile.

At this point, everything from ordering your food, to Genie+, and even mobile check out at select stores can be found right on your phone! So it should come as no surprise that Disney offer lots of features for hotel guests through My Disney Experience.
When you connect your Disney World hotel reservation to your My Disney Experience username, you can use the app to do everything from check in to your hotel to staying on top of room charges. And now, you can check out using the My Disney Experience app.

Initially, the Disney World website indicated that this check out option through the app was only available at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Riviera Resort. But now the Disney World website has changed.

UPDATE: The Disney website now simply indicates that option 1 for checking out is using the My Disney Experience app (which is recommended), and that option 2 is to check out of your room automatically.
Disney notes that this check out option through the My Disney Experience is available unless you have unresolved charges to your hotel folio. Generally, both of these options (automatic check out and My Disney Experience check out) are available if you have a credit card on file or a zero balance. Disney now notes that these are available at all hotels, except the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.

Guests who check out without visiting the front desk will have a copy of their itemized hotel account sent to them via email, and they will also be able to view their charges on the My Disney Experience app.
