Disney has partnerships and agreements with various other companies.

One company that it has worked with in the past is Comcast. Back at the end of 2020, we shared news about a new agreement made between Disney and Comcast for an integrated Disney+ and ESPN+ experience. Now, we’ve got an update on another deal between the two companies that has been renewed.
According to a press release posted on Business Wire, Disney and Comcast have “renewed their content carriage agreement.” Through this renewed deal, they will “continue to make Disney’s robust lineup of sports, news, kids, family and general entertainment programming available to Xfinity TV customers. Essentially, the carriage agreement ensures that Xfinity TV customers will continue to have access to the Disney or Disney-owned channels covered by the deal.
Disney and Comcast have also indicated that Comcast will distribute the ACC Network to its Xfinity customers.

The multi-year agreement also covers the continued distribution of various Disney cable channels, like ESPN, Disney branded channels, Freeform, National Geographic, and more. It also includes distribution terms of things like the SEC Network and other ABC Owned Television Stations.
Sean Bean, Executive Vice President of Platform Distribution from Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution said, “We’re very happy to extend our longstanding relationship with Comcast and continue to provide their Xfinity customers with Disney’s best-in-class programming.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the previous agreement between the companies was announced in 2012 and expired in September. With this renewed agreement, Xfinity users can look forward to continued access to some of their favorite Disney or Disney-owned channels.
We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more news and we’ll let you know what we find.
