Last year, you might not have been able to go on the vacation of your dreams. But, maybe you’re planning something extra special for this year or even 2022 — maybe even a unique trip through Adventures by Disney?!

Because of the pandemic, Adventures by Disney is providing some flexibility for its guests when it comes to cancellations and final payments. Recently, Disney made some updates to these policies with regards to certain adventures. You’ll want to make sure you’re up to date on these changes so you can be best prepared when handling your vacation planning or upcoming trips.
First, Disney has updated its cancellation and final payment policies when it comes to NEW 2021 Land, Short Escape and River Cruise Bookings. All NEW bookings of these adventures, made through March 31st, 2021 for travel through March 31st, 2022 are eligible for fully refundable deposits up until the final payment date. What’s the final payment date you ask? Well, the final payment date has temporarily been modified at the moment to be 90 days prior to departure.
Update: Adventures By Disney has updated this policy once again. The website now notes that all new bookings for 2021 Land, Escape and River Cruise bookings made through JUNE 30th, 2021 (as opposed to March 31st, 2021 as it previously stated) for travel through March 31st, 2022 are eligible for fully refundable deposits up until the final payment date. The website now also specifies that the final payment date has been temporarily modified to be just 65 days prior to departure.

But, keep in mind that some adventures are excluded from this modified cancellation and final payment policy. Specifically, the Adventures by Disney site says, “Disneyland Resort and Southern California Escape departures beginning in March 2022, all Buenos Aires Escape departures, and all expedition cruise sailings are excluded from this modified cancellation and final payment policy.”

What if you’re booking an Expedition Cruise or Buenos Aires Escape? Well, there is an update there too when it comes to the change and cancellation policy. The Disney website says, “Guests who change or cancel their Antarctica (12/20/21 and 1/30/22 sailings) or Galapagos (all 2022 sailings) Expedition Cruise or Buenos Aires Escape (12/18/21 and 1/28/22 departures) reservation for any reason through March 31, 2021 will receive a future travel credit in the amount of their required deposit. “
If you’re on the Antarctica 2/20/22 cruise or the 2/18/22 Buenos Aires Escape experience, there are other specific policies for those — so you’ll want to check those rules.
Update: This specific language regarding the Antartica, Galapagos, Expedition Cruises, and Buenos Aires Escape adventures has been removed from the Adventures by Disney site.

And finally, when it comes to ALL 2022 Land, Expedition Cruise, and River Cruise Bookings, Disney’s site now notes that any date changes or cancellations will follow their standard terms and conditions.

You can read more about Disney’s cancellation and payment policy updates below.

You can also see the latest information on Adventures by Disney’s date change policy and final payment policy on their website. Specifically, the website notes that right now guests who are booked on adventures through May 31st, 2021 can change their reservation up to 45 days prior to their trip and receive a 100% credit to be used toward a future adventure.
Update: Adventures By Disney has updated this policy once again. The website now shares that “Guests currently booked on adventures through August 2021 can change their reservation up to 65 days prior to their trip and receive a 100% credit to be used toward a future adventure.”

What about final payments for your adventure? Well, for existing bookings that travel through March 31, 2022, final payment is currently due 90 days prior to the adventure start date.
