Adventures by Disney just announced some changes to a beloved vacation and revealed a new itinerary — all coming in 2027!
The Rhine River Cruise takes you along one of the most prominent rivers in Europe with visits to Germany, France, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. However, Disney has added some exciting enhancements, so we’re about to go over them all and the brand new Munich Escape that you can add onto your vacation!
Starting next year, there will be several new experiences you can take advantage of, and one of those was made for Beauty and the Beast fans. That’s because when you stop in France, you’ll be able to explore Eguisheim — the real village that inspired the iconic film!
Switzerland is also getting in on the changes. There, you can choose a full-day excursion to Lucerne to see its Old Town, the natural wonders at Glacier Garden, or take a scenic bike ride to the town of Neuf-Brisach. That’s where you’ll find a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a star-shaped design and three moats!
Finally, when your cruise ends in Amsterdam, activities just got more flexible. You can have some iconic Dutch experiences, including a canal cruise or a visit to the village of Zaanse Schans, where Junior Adventurers can decorate their own wooden clogs. These will be offered in the morning and afternoon, so you can pick the time that’s right for you.
Now, let’s talk about the new vacation option. The Munich Escape is the perfect way to see the region in a short period of time, with the trip lasting three days and two nights. You’ll stay in Munich’s city center and have time to explore a hands-on German workshop to make your own treats, or head to a centuries-old brewery.
I hope you’re sitting down, because this trip also includes a visit to the castle that inspired Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland! Yes, Neuschwanstein Castle is on the itinerary, and now we know this trip is not a want, it’s a MUST.

I went to Munich on a school trip when I was 15. The highlight was visiting Neuschwanstein as not only did it inspire Cinderella castle, it was the castle from the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. My friends and I sang Sherman brothers songs all the way up and all the way down the mountain!
