In addition to remaining closed for almost a full year at this point, Disneyland continues to navigate how it’s going to reshape its Annual Passholder options.

After canceling its original program and working on new membership options, the park is now also considering opening dedicated entry points for Passholders.
Although it doesn’t look like Disneyland will be open again anytime soon, the park has been hard at work laying the groundwork for the future. A large part of this involves reconfiguring its Passholder program and finding options that work for guests.

According to The Orange County Register, one such option is the possibility of a park entrance specifically for Passholders!

Sounds like a win-win plan at first, but there are lots of pros and cons that Disney is grappling with, including the possibility of bottlenecked crowds and the potential for Annual Passholder lines to get longer than regular entry lines if there are fewer turnstiles available. It was recently shared that Annual Passholders represented 50% of the parks’ attendance, so the potential for high crowds is likely.

While the park is still closed, they’ve been surveying Passholders via email to gauge their input about the idea of a dedicated entrance, amongst other perks that guests want their membership program to include.

Of course, it’s hard to predict how the crowding could look, how many turnstiles would be used for such a dedicated entrance, and how efficiently Passholders would be able to speed through the gates, which is why the surveys have helped Disney hone in its options.

Disney is also weighing different tiers, such as only offering the dedicated entrance for the highest paying Passholders, which could alleviate potential crowds.

As Disneyland continues to map out the future of its membership programs, we’ll keep you updated on all the latest news!
