NEWS: Live-Action Production on ‘Avatar 2’ Has Officially Wrapped!

Back in January we shared the first concept art for Avatar 2 and, before the calendar switches to 2021, production has wrapped!

Though we’ve seen delays in production and the release date of the film this year, it is nice to be ending the year with positive news on this long-awaited sequel.

The news that production for Avatar 2 has wrapped came from producer Jon Landau, who wrote on Instagram, “Celebrating the wrap of live-action photography…Congrats to the entire crew in both New Zealand and Los Angeles. Incredible work!”

Back in August, Landau also shared a look behind-the-scenes on the production of the film, specifically sharing a photo of the High Camp Bio Lab set on the stages in New Zealand.

Currently, the film is slated to hit theaters on December 16th, 2022. We’ll continue to keep you updated on all the latest (including the multitude of further sequels planned for the series!).
