NEWS! Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line Announces the Cancelation of 2020 Departures

After several extensions, the CDC has finally lifted its “no-sail order” which kept cruise ships from departing for the better part of 2020. Instead, the CDC has issued a Level 3 warning for all cruise ship travel once the no-sail order expired on October 31st.

The CDC has also placed strict guidelines in place if a cruise operator wishes to resume sailings.

In response to these new warnings and guidelines, certain cruise operators are choosing to cancel more sailings. Royal Caribbean announced today that all global departures are canceled through December 31st, 2020.

In addition, Carnival Cruise Line, which had plans on resuming departures as soon as December 1st, announced today that the remaining ships they had in their December 2020 schedule would be canceled, which impacts departures from Miami and Port Canaveral.

As of this writing, Disney Cruise Line has yet to issue a statement in response to the CDC’s new guidelines. Currently, departures are canceled through mid-December.
