As guests have started to return to Florida’s theme parks, SeaWorld Orlando has continued to move forward with its reopening procedures.

Since other parks have moved forward with their own projects, SeaWorld has continued to push forward with its Ice Breaker Coaster and other experiences for guests. However, attractions won’t be the only thing that the parks are introducing at the moment.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, SeaWorld has started the process of hiring back employees after putting 1,900 people in Orlando and 1,000 in Tampa Bay on furlough. In a statement from a SeaWorld spokesperson, they stated that the company “encourages terminated employees to reapply and hopes they fill up the majority of the new positions.”

At the moment, there are 20 new jobs in SeaWorld Orlando for animal care, bartending, food service, theatrical services, and more. While most of the jobs are full-time hourly positions, there are a few part-time opportunities as well as two salaried positions (one including an environmental, health, and safety director).

Previously, SeaWorld spokesperson Lori Cherry announced that, “While we were able to bring thousands of furloughed Ambassadors back to work and hoped to bring back everyone, the current environment requires us to set up the company for long term success. SeaWorld has determined that it must transition certain park and corporate personnel from a furloughed status to a permanent layoff. We are sorry to have to part ways with any team members in this difficult moment, but their abiding commitment to our guests, fellow ambassadors and animals is recognized and made a lasting impact.”
