The opening day of Walt Disney World with Roy O. Disney and Mickey Mouse. You may know this already, but Mickey was a last-minute addition. Roy stopped right before giving his speech and asked for Mickey. “We lost Walt.” And all we had of Walt was in Mickey, and so Mickey moved proudly and reverently to Roy’s side. I’ve never seen a recording of this (you know Roy wasn’t one for the spotlight). I wish I could.
