I love a day in Magic Kingdom. The park is home to some of my favorite attractions, seeing Cinderella Castle is always a treat, and the vibes are immaculate.

However, Magic Kingdom can also be ROUGH, especially in the summer season. Finding attractions that don’t have you out in the blazing heat while you wait is easier said than done, and stepping into busy quick-service restaurants to snag cups of ice water is decently hard when they’re already shoulder-to-shoulder. While I stay away from Disney World in the heat of summer so I don’t literally melt (plus, I get crabby fast, you don’t want to see that), when the temperature begins ramping up, there are a few essentials I make sure I’ve packed that keep me feeling prepared.
Having a fan is a MUST, and that’s coming from someone who used to refuse to get one. My bag is usually already packed as is, so I didn’t want to throw something else in there. But a fan like the Diveblues Mini Handheld Fan? Yeah, I won’t go to the parks now in the heat without it.

There are lots of different fans out there, and honestly, whatever one you find that fits your budget and checks your boxes will be a great fit. Personally, I like one that’s compact, but if it’s powerful, that’s worth it being bigger. The ease of charging it is also a big deal for me, and the strap on this one makes it extra easy to carry around.
I NEED EVERYONE TO LISTEN TO ME RIGHT NOW. Great, I’ve got your attention, brilliant. Cooling towels are incredible in the parks, BUT there are lots out there. Trust me when I say that the best of the best is the Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad.

When I tell you this thing has single-handedly saved my butt so many times, I don’t know where I’d be without it. This isn’t a cooling towel that’s just wet and lies on your neck. NO, it actually uses the water you cover it in to continue cooling itself throughout the day. I’m not a scientist, so I don’t know exactly how it works, but what I do know is that I’ll tell anyone who will listen about it. The higher price is WORTH IT, please believe me.
A portable charger is 100% a necessity in the parks, and I’ve both tried a lot myself and used some of my coworkers’ and can vouch that the FuelRod MAX10 is one of the strongest and easiest to use.

I really love how it can fit on the back of your phone, or you can use a cord for faster charging. The versatility is key. Not to mention, it genuinely holds a lot of juice, so you won’t have to worry about it conking out halfway through charging your phone. And if it does, for some reason, you can just trade it out at one of the many FuelRod stations throughout the parks.
If you like the idea of FuelRods but you’re not totally sold on the newer version, I get it. The great news is that the FuelRod USB-C Portable Charger Kit is just as reliable and just as easy to swap out in the parks.

If you purchase a kit on Amazon, you’ll get two, which means you may never have to trade them out if you keep them both charged, or you can leave one in one bag and bring the other into the parks with you so you’re never without one.
Have I mentioned how much I love the Frogg Toggs brand? In case I haven’t, allow me to express my undying love for the Frogg Toggs Poncho!

Yet another product that has personally saved me from much discomfort, because walking around soaking wet in Disney World is not the move (been there, done that, no thank you). The poncho is big enough to easily cover your whole body, it’s so water resistant that the water literally rolls off of it, and again, I recommend it to anyone who will listen.
I’m also super specific about what bag I use in the parks, and for me, that’s a KAVU Sling Bag.

A friend got it for me when they were super popular about a decade ago, and while I didn’t use it right at the time, it’s the perfect size for a Disney World day. The pockets make it easy to keep things organized. I can hang my water bottle off the strap, and the best part is I can hang the friendship bracelets and some of the other kinds of gifts AllEars viewers have given me on the bag!
Speaking of water bottles, you’ve probably heard me talk about it before, but I’m a big fan of Owalas.

Honestly, the whole team is, but it’s for good reason. I’ve got stickers all over mine from shows I’ve been part of, which remind me of home when I’m out of town, and it keeps water nice and cold while I’m in the parks on even the hottest days. Plus, it’s easy to clean when I’m back home, which is a necessity anyway, but especially when you’ve just had Disney World water in it (it’s not great).
We’ll continue to bring you all our best suggestions for your upcoming Disney World trip, so stay tuned to AllEars!
