You’re never going to guess where we just went!

No, seriously, you won’t be able to guess. We just visited Efteling, which is a fantasy-themed theme park in Kaatsheuvel, a town in the Netherlands. The attractions reflect elements from ancient European myths and legends, fairy tales, fables, and folklore. It was such a unique experience, and we wanted to take you along.
You’re probably wondering, how did we end up at Efteling, or the Netherlands for that matter? Well, we recently went to Singapore to check out the newest ship of the Disney Cruise Line, the Disney Adventure. On our way back home, we planned on stopping in Paris to check out the brand-new Disney Adventure World for a media preview.

Unfortunately, our flight to Paris got delayed and then canceled, so we had to make a change of plans. Be ready, though, our Disney Adventure World previews will be coming on Friday, March 20th, and you’re not going to want to miss them.
But in the meantime, we made a side quest!

Now, let’s talk about our experience at Efteling, because we loved it! We can’t find a better way to describe it other than that it was both weird and wonderful. We have no big criticisms! Well, the water in the bathroom was too cold, but that’s neither here nor there.

One comment is that people who love theme parks will love this place, but not necessarily people who love Disney, if that makes sense. It could have to do with how much IP Disney holds.

We felt like the food here was actually on par with Disneyland, which is saying something. As far as grab-and-go and quick service go at Disneyland, that’s the best there is!

Let’s talk about the rides here. Our top three favorites were Droomvacht, which was an enchanting “flying” dark ride through fairy world, Symbolica, which is an incredible trackless through a fantastical castle that reminded us of mystic manor, and Danse Macabre, which is a brand new ride system where you are on this rotating floor that tilts and rises and falls and spins you while danse macabre plays and a ghostly orchestra comes to life around you.

There is a donkey that launches coins out of its butt at high speed here as well. Just thought we should let you know.
They also have automats, a system where you tap your card and then get your snack out of the wall; it’s pretty neat. We had the noodle snack, which was so crunchy and savory and surprisingly good!

When it came to Fairytale Forest, there was lots of grabby weirdness in. There was a long-necked man and Pinocchio in the fish’s mouth. It was so unique, and that’s what we loved most about this place. You wouldn’t find it anywhere else.

Something we also wanted to mention is that there are smells everywhere here! And they sell them as sprays and candles, which we LOVED.

Overall, we’re so happy we got to check this place out. It’s cool to say we’ve done something like this. We hope you enjoyed our quick little tour. Make sure to stay tuned to AllEars because we have TONS to show you in Paris this weekend!
