REMINDER: This Disney World Water Park Is CLOSING Next Week

There’s a water park shakeup next week that’s going to affect your spring Disney World trips!

Typhoon Lagoon

On February 15th, Blizzard Beach will reopen for guests. But it also comes with Typhoon Lagoon’s closure!

Blizzard Beach temporarily closed last September for yearly maintenance. It’s a ski resort-themed water park that’s the largest on Disney property – it has over 17 slides, a wave pool, and two separate areas for pre-teens and children. Blizzard Beach will reopen for the year on February 15th.

Disney announced last month that its other water park, Typhoon Lagoon, will close on February 15th, the same day that Blizzard Beach reopens. Typhoon Lagoon is Disney’s oldest water park with one of the largest wave pools in the world. It’s themed to be a tropical paradise that just survived a typhoon.

Typhoon Lagoon will presumably reopen on May 26th. Walt Disney World is running a promotion where Disney resort guests will receive a free water park ticket for their arrival day, which starts with Cool Kids’ Summer on May 26th. Cool Kid Summer is a summer celebration that runs from May to August with travel deals and limited-time fun for the whole family across Walt Disney World Resort.

Another reason we’re confident in a summer reopening is for Typhoon Lagoon’s after-hours event, H2O Glow Nights. It’s a very popular after-hours event with exclusive characters and dance parties. It’s also the cheapest after-hours event at Disney, making it a great deal.

Since H2O Glow Nights typically run from late May to September, we’re pretty sure that Typhoon Lagoon will reopen by the end of May. But just in case, stay tuned to All Ears for more water park updates and an official reopening date!
