Are you heading to Universal Orlando next month? First of all, I’m jealous, but there are also some closures you need to know about so you’re not caught off guard.

This coming month, there are SEVEN different rides that will be closed across all four of Universal Orlando’s parks, and they span across the whole month. Don’t worry, though, we’ve got all the dates and information for you here so you’re not caught off guard!
Epic Universe
Starting over in Universal Orlando’s newest park, we’re seeing the very first ride refurbishment take place over at Fyre Drill from February 1st-7th.

This isn’t uncommon, or surprising to us, because we’ve seen water rides close during the winter season across Universal Orlando and Disney resorts for years now. Since they’re less popular during this time of year, and water and electronics often don’t always work the best together, it’s a good way to ensure everything stays running smoothly.
Universal Islands of Adventure
Jurassic Park River Adventure is undergoing a VERY long refurbishment, and while we know it’ll be worth it when the ride reopens, being patient for nearly a whole year is going to be hard (especially this summer). The attraction closed on January 5th and won’t be reopening until November 19th.

Spanning across Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure is the Hogwarts™ Express, since it travels between the two parks. The attraction will be closed from February 9th-23rd.

This means that to travel between the parks, you’ll need to walk out the entrance of either park, travel through a small part of CityWalk, and arrive at the other park.
Universal Studios Florida
As previously said, the Hogwarts Express will be closed here as well. Revenge of the Mummy will also be closed from January 27th through February 2nd — a short closure, thank goodness! This ride is super popular, so any time it’s unavailable, we know lots of people are disappointed (us included).

Interestingly enough, Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast will be closed for just one day — February 5th! It’s not clear if this is to fix an issue, or if there’s something happening in this ride for the day that the public can’t see, but regardless, we’re glad it’s only closed for one day.

While it’s not a ride, we do also feel it’s important to mention that Finnegan’s Bar & Grill closed on January 12th and will remain closed through Winter 2026.
Universal Volcano Bay
In case you were looking to head to Volcano Bay (even though it’s pretty chilly in February, there are still warm days!), there are also two closures you need to know about here. Both the Maku of Maku Puihi Round Raft Rides and Puihi of Maku Puihi Round Raft Rides closed on January 5th and will remain closed through February 12th.
