Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo, the Cinderella Castle is starting to CHANGE!

Back in the summer of 2025, Disney announced that the Cinderella Castle was going to undergo a makeover. Well, the time is finally here, and we’re showing you what’s happening on day one!
Today is January 28th, which means the castle is officially transforming back to its old self. The castle is returning to its original color scheme of blues, grays, and gold accents. A color scheme we haven’t seen since 2020, when the castle was repainted to the pink, blue, and gold version we see now, which was to celebrate the park’s 50th anniversary.

If you’re wondering how we can see the castle right now, it’s because the cranes around the castle are lowered by 12 PM (noon) each day at the latest. They only do their work in the morning, and then take the cranes down to make it easier for you to take those iconic castle photos. Let’s get a closer look at some of the work they’ve done on day one.

There’s going to be a long way to go, but they’ve actually gotten a good chunk done today. They really wasted no time in bringing the grey in and getting rid of the pink!

It’s crazy we’re going to see the castle just be half one color and half another for a good chunk of time. It’s an interesting year to be at Disney World, that’s for sure.

Eventually, we should start to see the moat around the castle get drained, but that hasn’t happened yet. With this painting starting, you’re going to want to be aware of the changes to the shows that take place on the castle stage and on the castle. Of course, we’re talking about “Let the Magic Begin”, Mickey’s Friendship Faire, and Happily Ever After!
