Now, we know that “slow season” isn’t really something that truly exists in Disney World anymore. It seems like you’re likely to run into crowds at the resort pretty much anytime of the year.

However, some days are better than others, while some days are worst. If your Disney World plans involve a trip to Disney Springs, though, we will warn you about two specific days there: Saturday and Sunday.

Yes, we’re telling you to avoid Disney Springs on the weekends. Why? Because you’re not only going to get crowds from folks visiting Disney World (maybe even with hopes of avoiding weekend crowds in the parks), but you’ll also get a lot of locals visiting Disney Springs on their days off (which often coincide with weekends). This is what things looked like when we recently visited the shopping and dining district on a weekend.

So, yes, Disney Springs is typically very crowded on weekends. If you can rearrange your plans and visit on a weekday, you’ll be much less likely to deal with these kinds of crowds. Also, weekends could also mean long waits to get into restaurants (if you can get in at all), as well as long lines to grab a snack at Gideon’s Bakehouse.

It will also be more of a hassle visiting shops because you’ll have to navigate around a lot of folks in small spaces, and that can get annoying, especially if you’re looking for something specific.

  1. Just my opinion: Park at Disney Springs, and ride the buses to the resorts to eat. The lines are (sometimes) shorter, and the resorts are decorated this time of year. Then you can take a bus back to get your shopping done, or just shop online during the bus ride.
