Hollywood Studios Brought Back a Nostalgic Piece of Disney History, and We’re Begging for More

We must admit, from time to time, when we’re walking around Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we still miss The Great Movie Ride. The ride that existed before it was replaced by Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

We’re not saying we don’t like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, we LOVE that ride. It’s just that The Great Movie Ride was iconic and unique. It took you through some of the most classic films of all time. We normally look at the Chinese Theater and remember the ride that was once there. However, Disney brought out a special holiday surprise with a NEW display pulled directly from the former attraction!

It looks like Christmas window shopping at Hollywood Studios paid off in a surprising way, because we were shocked when we came across a new window display celebrating the holiday season. Over at Keystone Clothiers, on the outside in the window, you’ll spot a display filled with peppermint presents, peppermint candies, and three mannequins in red and white peppermint outfits.

IT’S THE BUSBY BERKELEY MANNEQUINS! Not replicas, no, it’s literally THEM! These are just three of the many mannequins that were previously seen in the Footlight Parade scene in The Great Movie Ride.

On the ride, there were numerous dancers in swim caps and swimsuits displayed. Well, now they have a new holiday look and a new job. Now the ladies are wearing Santa hats, but look closely. Can you still see the swim caps?

This confirms these are the REAL mannequins, and they’re here to celebrate the holidays. We can’t blame them! The Christmas music, the bright lights, the dazzling decorations, and of course, Jollywood Nights. We’re super excited that they’re here for the most wonderful time of the year!

Seeing that Disney brought these back has made us feel whole inside. Disney, please keep them out all year round! It would be nice to have The Great Movie Ride still be a part of the park.
