Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Destiny, will be setting sail on November 20th, and we’re so excited! Disney Imagineers have been hard at work putting together the heroes and villains-themed ship. Recently, they shared new details surrounding the brand-new pirates-themed bar, and we had to show you!

OK, so recently, Disney World debuted a NEW Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar, called The Beak & Barrel. We’ve dined inside, and it’s safe to say we LOVED it. But that’s not the only pirate bar you can visit…

The Beak and Barrel

Once you board the Disney Destiny, you’re going to want to head straight to the all-new bar inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean, Cask & Cannon! We guarantee that if you found a magic compass that pointed to what you want most, it would be this lounge.

Once you step inside, it will be a pirate’s life for you! It will feel like you’re entering a real pirate’s tavern — filled with trinkets, treasures, and a load of easter eggs that fans of the iconic Disney Parks attraction will notice. The pub will look like you’re drinking inside a pirate ship, as the interior design will be decked out in wooden planks. You’ll also find mismatched furniture, antiques, treasure maps, fishing nets, barrel stools, rum bottles, and skull-and-crossbones insignias.

Disney shared “eagle-eyed fans will have much to discover in the intricate carvings framing the venue’s portholes that are cast in a charred wood look,” which will be a nod to the attractions’ burning village scene. If you’re Disney knowledge runs even deeper, you spot distinctive lanterns that are inspired by the Disneyland Paris attraction.

If you’re a fan of the beloved Pirates of the Caribbean film series, keep your eyes open, because there will be nods and easter eggs for you to catch. You’ll notice the stacked treasure chests that make up the bar front, which are inspired by the treasure rooms and Captain’s Quarters in the films.

Around the corner from the bar, you’ll spot a set of thirteen drawers filled with treasure maps. They’ll each be labeled with different scenes that represent the Disney parks and attractions around the world. This will include The Ghostly Grotto, Port Royale, Talking Skull Bay, Blue Bayou (California), and Treasure Cove (Shanghai). Disney reminded guests, “Don’t forget to look up and down in your quest to uncover every design gem. The ceiling of Cask & Cannon will feature a fantastical treasure map of the Caribbean Sea inspired by original artwork by legendary Disney artist and animator Marc Davis.” Now that’s going to be cool!

Disney mentioned the drawing has been “specially modified for this venue with several new additions, including seven pirate ships that represent the number of ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, with Disney Destiny joining as the seventh.” They also added that each of the pirate lords’ Pieces of Eight will be woven into the carpet design — yes, that includes Captain Jack Sparrow’s compass! It’s so cool to hear the special and unique details Disney adds to their projects.
