Why August 20th Is a BIG Day for Epic Universe Fans

August 20th is a big day for Epic Universe fans, but you don’t have to be anywhere near the park to experience the fun!

If you’ve been wondering how this state-of-the-art park came to be (I know I have been!) or want to go behind the scenes, you won’t want to miss the new special coming out on August 20th. Inside the Worlds of Epic Universe debuts in under two weeks, and we can’t WAIT!

On August 20th, Inside the Worlds of Epic Universe will debut on NBC at 9 PM, then arrive the next day on Peacock. This one-hour special will feature multiple special guests to talk about the park, its creation, the IP used, and so much more.

The full list of guests featured in the special is: Bowen Yang, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jon M. Chu, Mason Thames, Matt Rogers, Michelle Yeoh, Nico Parker, Vin Diesel, and Warwick Davis, plus an Extended Interview with Legendary Filmmaker Steven Spielberg. It’ll be hosted by Joe Manganiello and follow his first-ever trip inside the park.

When talking about the upcoming special, Jen Neal, Executive Vice President of Live Events and Specials, NBCUniversal Entertainment, said, “Universal Epic Universe is truly a first-of-its-kind theme park in connecting the world of beloved characters and stories from popular culture with reality. There is nothing like it. Joe’s sense of adventure and ability to connect with fans through cinema and beyond makes him the perfect host to lead audiences on this journey as they experience firsthand the magic in this new chapter of immersive storytelling.”

This won’t be the only special on Epic Universe we’ll get this year, though! Later in 2025, we’ll get “Epic Ride: The Story of Universal Theme Parks,” which will be a three-part docuseries that celebrates the history and legacy of Universal Destinations & Experiences. We can’t wait to check it out, and will let you know when we have a release date!
