REVIEW: We Just Discovered the BEST NEW Breakfast in Disney World. Yes, Really.

One of the toughest questions you’ve got to ask yourself when you’re on your Disney World vacation is, “Where are we going to eat?” Here at AllEars, we like to make that decision easier for you!

Coronado Springs

We know all the ins and outs of Disney World restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by Rix Sports Bar and Grill at Coronado Springs Resort and are bringing you our FULL review!

Background

Rix Sports Bar and Grill is a table-service restaurant located at the Coronado Springs Resort. The location offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner — so you can dine here whenever you’d like. We don’t think this place is as well-known as others, so it’s not as hard to get a reservation here.

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.

Atmosphere

The inside of the restaurant presents a nice, chill vibe. We went for breakfast, and it was not busy at all! You could definitely bring your family here, and this could be a good spot to catch a big game in the evening, as there were TVs playing sports channels all around the place. It’s a smaller restaurant, so it has a calm feel.

But enough about that, what are we eating?!

Food & Drinks

Rix just dropped a bunch of brand-new breakfast menu items, and we had to try them! We had lots to eat, and started with the Floridian French Toast for $18. This is made with “Sobao” bread filled with mascarpone, fig, and orange jam. It’s also made with seasonal berries and a lavender glaze. It even comes with a choice of breakfast meat between bacon and sausage — we went with bacon.

Floridian French Toast!

We’re not trying to be dramatic, but this might be up there in the rankings for the best French toast we’ve ever had! It was just so soft and fluffy; it was like biting into a cloud. The French toast is already sweet as it is, so you don’t need to put on a ton of syrup. That said, the syrup is a great touch — it just makes it sweeter.

It was so good!

It almost tasted like a cinnamon bun when we ate it, and we think it must be the cream on the inside. It’s the filling that really makes biting into this so soft and enjoyable. This dish was drizzled with powdered sugar, and we loved the berries. Sometimes with breakfast dishes, you don’t get a lot of fruit, but there was a good amount served here.

After that, we tried the Southern Fried Chicken Biscuit Skillet for $19. It was Crispy Chicken, cheddar biscuits, and sausage gravy.

Southern Fried Chicken Biscuit Skillet!

The chicken was amazing — it wasn’t dry or greasy, and it was cooked to be moist and tender. The gravy on top was a great addition and gave the chicken an even more salty, savory flavor. The chicken was also very soft, making it easy to eat. There were only two pieces of chicken, and we definitely could’ve gone for another.

The chicken was so good!

The skillet came with four biscuits at the bottom of everything. The biscuits were okay — ours just came out pretty dry. Even with the gravy, we found they still felt dry to eat. If you’re a biscuit fan, you’ll still enjoy them.

It was tasty!

Overall, this was a great breakfast dish! It was filling, but it also left you wanting more, thanks to that salty, savory flavor combination of chicken and gravy.

After that, we tried the Hot Honey Biscuits for $6. Here, you get two cheddar cheese biscuits covered with honey. They were very sweet, and the honey gave the biscuits a lot of rich, indulgent flavor. The biscuits weren’t dry or bland at all. Talk about a WIN!

Hot Honey Biscuit!

The outside of the biscuits was super crispy, with all the fluffiness you’d hope for on the inside. So when you bit into it, you got a nice crisp on the outside, and a soft bite on the inside. Two biscuits for $6 is also a really good deal here!

To drink, we picked up a few things. We had the Sunrise Mimosa for $12.25, made with Lunazul Reposado, Orange Juice, Grenadine, and Sparkling Champagne.

Sunrise Mimosa!

The drink is beautiful to look at with its blend of red, orange, and yellow colors. We found the drink to be pretty tart and sour, and almost a little too strong to be honest. Even after it was stirred, we couldn’t pick up much of the sweet juice we expected here. Mimosa fans would still enjoy this!

We also got the Coco-Loco Espresso Martini for $17. Look, the price of the drink, compared to what you get, isn’t the best. However, this thing was so good!

Coco Loco

This drink was Don Q Coconut Rum and Licor 43 shaken with rich espresso and a splash of sweet cream. It essentially tasted like a cold spiked hot chocolate. It was so sweet and rich in taste, and the rum gave it a nice kick. We would 100% get this again!

Lastly, we just had to try the Churro Iced Latte for $9. It was an iced latte with whipped cream and churros on top. As soon as it was brought to the table, we were in awe of how this thing looked.

Churro Iced Latte!

To be honest, it was really just a vanilla latte that came with two tiny churros. It didn’t taste like anything too outlandish, but it was still good. It’s something we think coffee lovers should get at least once. Just make sure to drink it before the whipped cream melts, and the churros fall in the drink and get all soggy — that’s what happened with ours.

Magic or Tragic?

This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…

  • You’re looking for a filling, quality breakfast! This is 100% a spot we would hit for breakfast, whether you’re staying at the resort or not. It’s not hard to get into Coronado Springs; you don’t even need a reservation to visit the resort.
  • You want a budget-friendly breakfast. In comparison to other locations on Disney World property, the prices here were pretty fair — especially for the portions!
  • You want to eat somewhere quiet. This is not on every Disney goer’s “must-visit” dining list, like, say, Crystal Palace, for example. When we went to Rix, it was pretty empty. It’s a nice, quiet spot.

You should skip this Disney World spot if…

  • You prefer to grab something at the park or the resort you’re staying at.
  • You want something more “Disney”! This is not a Disney-themed restaurant, and honestly, it doesn’t offer much of a Disney vibe. It’s pretty “normal” in terms of dining locations.
The meal was great!

  1. Glad to hear it was good. We are staying at Coronado Springs next month and booked Rix for breakfast. I was planning on getting the Chicken Stuffed Waffles but these other two look like good options too.
