NEW Theme Park Ride Set to Open in Orlando Next Week

Disney World and Universal Orlando aren’t the only theme parks in the Orlando area, but they are probably the two theme parks visitors to the city visit the most.

However, there are also parks like LEGOLAND Florida and SeaWorld, and both of those theme parks are also busy making updates and adding new rides. In fact, SeaWorld has a new ride opening on May 1st, and it sounds amazing.

The new ride is called Expedition Odyssey and it’s an immersive “first-of-its-kind Arctic Adventure” with “unparalleled ride technology, breathtaking real-world footage and up-close encounters with Arctic wildlife.”

The ride uses dynamic motion, visuals, and real-world animal encounters an experience that “is more than just a ride — it’s an adventure that blurs the line between simulation and reality.” The concept art is giving us Soarin‘ vibes showing riders being taking on “an exhilarating journey through towering glaciers, vast tundra and the icy depths of the Arctic Ocean, encountering some of the planet’s most awe-inspiring wildlife along the way.”

The ride is also family-friendly with a height requirement of 39 inches, so almost everyone can enjoy it.

When the ride is over, Expedition Odyssey will bring guests from the ride straight into a real-world encounter with live Arctic animals. You’ll get to see beluga whales and walruses, among other animals that call the Arctic home.

The ride opens on May 1st, but SeaWorld Pass Members can get an early preview starting on April 26th. Preview times will happen one hour after park open until park close. Platinum Pass Members can check out the attraction from May 1st through May 8th, while Gold Pass Members can check it out from May 3rd through May 8th, and Silver Pass Members can get an early preview from May 5th through May 8th.
