Millennial Disney Adults Have a Hot Take on Planning Disney World Trips…and Honestly, They’re Not Wrong

Everyone does Disney World differently, and that is a good thing!

Magic Kingdom

It is your vacation, and there is so much to see and do that your ideal vacation may not be a dream vacation for others, and that is totally okay! Some people love to plan out every detail of their trip, while others prefer to go with the flow. Or maybe you like to go to the parks every day, whereas someone else may want to add a few rest days to their itinerary. The point is, you can customize your vacation to your liking.

Regardless, it is never a bad idea to jot down some tips to help make your trip even easier or more enjoyable!

We asked our Millennial Disney Adult readers to get their hot takes on how they plan their trips, and we won’t lie—our readers have some great points! Here’s what they said!

Take a Mid-Day Break

It can be exhausting to walk around in the parks all day, especially during the summer months when it gets hotter and hotter. Many of our readers said that they like to take a mid-day break. Once they are rested, they can go back to their resort and take a nap or even lay by the pool.

Take a break!

If you don’t feel like leaving the parks, consider a mid-day coffee break, or visit an attraction like the Carousel of Progess or the American Adventure to rest your feet and cool off.

Even if you are not traveling with little ones, everyone deserves a break. Besides, you are on vacation!

Don’t Worry About Planning Out EVERYTHING

In this day and age at Disney World, it seems like you have to have everything planned out to the second. You are on a schedule to catch transportation, to make it to your Lightning Lane reservation time or dining reservation. It can seem like there is just no time to relax.

It is possible to take a trip to Disney World without having everything planned out. One of our Millennial readers shared that “It’s okay to go and not worry about Lightning Lanes or reservations and just eat when you can and enjoy it.” We totally agree with this, but we are seasoned Disney World professionals, and if it is your first trip, it is still a good idea to make a game plan.

Advance Dining Reservations Are a Good Thing

While our Millenial readers shared that they don’t love having their entire day being dictated by a tight schedule, they are fans of Advance Dining Reservations. Reservations can be made for Disney World table service restaurants 60 days before the first day of your trip through the My Disney Experience app.

If you want to get your top picks, it can be wise to make sure to snag your reservations as soon as your booking window opens up. If you are looking for a more relaxed vibe, you may be able to find reservations on the day that you want to dine, but this is not always guaranteed.

Don’t Worry About Rope Drop

Rope dropping at Disney World is not for everyone. It requires you to wake up early, deal with crowds, and time your morning just right. While it can be a great way to get more time in the parks, some of our Millenial readers shared that they would rather sit rope drop out.

Take in the Sights and Sounds

While Disney World is known for its rides and attractions, the parks offer much more than just thrills.

A reader shared that they are “more focused on taking in the sights, sounds, and minor details Imagineers incorporated into the parks. Sitting in the hub or just on a bench listening to all the music with a Mickey pretzel makes me happy.”

Take a break in the hub!

The next time you are in the parks, consider taking a break to take it all in. You never know—you may see or learn something new!
