6 Rules Disney World Needs to Make for Its Hotel Pools

It’s undeniable that Disney World hotels have some of the best pools around.

Coronado Springs Pool

That being said, we can’t help but think they could be even better with a few new rules. We’re talking about rules that would take pool days from “nice” to “why haven’t we done this sooner?” So, Disney, if you’re reading, take notes. Here are the new rules we NEED for Disney World hotel pools.

Allow Pool Hopping (With Limits)

We get it – keeping pools exclusive to resort guests helps maintain order. But what if Disney introduced a controlled way to pool hop? Imagine being able to visit different Disney hotel pools for a few hours with an upcharge, kind of like a day pass. Maybe limit it to one pool per day or during specific hours to prevent overcrowding.

Stormalong Bay

This would be especially great for guests staying at value resorts who want a taste of the more luxurious pools without shelling out for a deluxe stay. Picture spending your morning at Stormalong Bay’s lazy river at Yacht and Beach Club, then heading back to your resort for the night. Sounds like a dream.

Floating Picnics Nights

Once a week, Disney pools should host Floating Picnic Nights, where guests can enjoy snacks and drinks on giant floating platforms. I mean, if Disney can turn an entire castle into a restaurant, they can turn pool floats into picnic tables.

Cove Pool

Imagine lounging on a raft, surrounded by twinkling pool lights, as you and your friends or family munch on Mickey pretzels and Dole Whips. Maybe even add a special picnic basket menu with shareable items like charcuterie and fruit plates. It would be the ultimate relaxation moment – just make sure you don’t drop your churro in the water.

Poolside Karaoke Competitions

Pools already have trivia and dance parties, so why not go a step further with full-on karaoke competitions?

Pop Century Pool

Guests could sign up, belt out their favorite Disney tunes, and compete for the grand prize: a free dessert from the resort’s quick-service location. Imagine the fun of hearing someone channel their inner Elsa while lounging by the pool. It’s entertainment AND a chance to win free food – what’s not to love?

Sunscreen Concierge Service

We all know sunscreen is a must in the Florida sun, but let’s be honest – reapplying every couple of hours is a hassle. Enter the sunscreen concierge.

Sunscreen

Guests could request sunscreen applications poolside, ensuring they’re properly protected without the stress of remembering to reapply. Plus, Disney could offer different sunscreen options, including kid-friendly varieties. It’s a small service that would make a huge difference.

Adults-Only Evenings

Disney resorts are family-friendly, and that’s great, but sometimes, adults just want to relax without the sound of a cannonball contest in the background.

Cove Pool!

Imagine if select pools had adults-only hours in the evening, complete with ambient lighting, chill music, and maybe even a bartender walking around with a tray of cocktails. Families get the pool all day, but adults get their turn to unwind in peace after dark. It’s a win-win.

Cabanas (With Cocktail Service)

Disney hotels need more cabanas. Period. Deluxe resorts have them, but moderate and value resorts should get in on the action, too.

Polynesian pool

Let guests book cabanas for a fee, and better yet, add cocktail waiters who bring drinks and small bites straight to your lounger. Imagine lounging poolside with a tropical drink in hand, not having to leave your shady little oasis for refills. This isn’t just a luxury; it’s a necessity.

Cars Pool has FREE cabanas that are first-come, first-serve!

Disney, we love your pools, but it’s time to step the game up. And Disney, if you’re listening, these rules would make your resort pools the true vacation havens they’re meant to be.

  1. How about enforce the no unattended children in the hot tubs. I’ve fled many of the hot tubs once a group of unattended kids decided to invade. It’s not a kiddie pool people!

  2. Good ideas here….I particularly like the Adults-only evenings. I would imagine Disney has no floating picnics due to sanitary risks of someone’s half-eaten munchie landing in the water. As to pool hopping, if I were a guest at a deluxe resort, and paying full price for access to deluxe amenities, I would not appreciate having budget guests crowding into the pool for which I paid a lot to be able to access.

    1. Is this a Disney survey to see if enough people would pay an “upcharge” to visit other pools. Note to Disney….i pay good money to stay at the resort that I want to use the enemities at
