ALERT: Disney’s Soarin’ Attraction Is CHANGING for a Limited Time

Buckle in and pull that yellow tab because it’s time to fly!

Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival starts today, and this attraction is getting a big change!

From February 28th to April 21st, Soarin’ Around the World will return to its original version, Soarin’ Over California, at Disney California Adventure!

Soarin’ Around the World takes guests from country to country, but Soarin’ Over California highlights the state’s landmarks and icons. From Palm Springs to Lake Tahoe to Disneyland and more, the ride brings California pride to every local.

One big difference between the rides, besides the different landmarks, is something debated within the Disney community — transitions! Soarin’ Around the World takes guests from scene to scene with smooth transitions, while Over California jumps to the next scene without warning.

Soarin’ Over California has a fantastic musical score written by Jerry Goldsmith! This was one of the award-winning composer’s final works “and the culmination of a five-decade career.” If you’ve been on the ride, you know how iconic the music is and how perfectly it suits the scenes!

Guests must be over 40″ (102 cm) to ride, and those who are afraid of heights might want to skip this experience. Those using mobility equipment will have to transfer to the vehicle.
