CONFIRMED: Marvel DELAYS 'Spider-Man 4' Opening by One Week

Marvel just released its new Captain America: Brave New World film in theaters, and they’ve got several other big releases planned for later this year.

Another highly-anticipated film is also on the way, coming a little later in 2026, and it’s just been announced that the release date will be delayed. That’s right — Spider-Man 4 starring Tom Holland will now release on July 31st, 2026.

The original release date for this film was a week earlier, July 24th, 2026. So, why the change? Well, according to Deadline, it’s the last Friday of July, which is where Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine played to an opening of around $211.4M domestic, $444.7M worldwide in 2023.

However, that’s not all. If Spider-Man 4 premiered on its original release date, it would debut the week after Christopher Nolan’s new film The Odyssey, coming out on July 17th, which has quite the stacked cast. This way, the film releases two weeks from that potential blockbuster.

We don’t know much about the film so far, but we do know Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige are back as producers. Tom Holland is most certainly returning, and it’s in the plans for Zendaya to return as well, but her deal is still in the works. It’s likely that Marisa Tomei won’t be returning because (major spoiler alert!!!) her character passed away in the third film installment.

Did you know that all three of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man films have made close to $4 billion all together? That’s quite impressive! We can’t wait to hear more about this fourth installment and see it in theaters when the time arrives.
