What's Going on With the Brand-New 500-Room Universal Hotel?

Universal has theme parks around the world, including two resorts in the United States.

The company is currently building a brand-new theme park, Epic Universe, in Orlando with five new lands and new hotels. But it seems that the Orlando resort isn’t the only one that could be getting some new additions. Universal Studios Hollywood has had a plan for a brand-new hotel in the works for a while, and it appears to still be ongoing!

According to KTLA, a new 500-room hotel may still be in the works at Universal Studios Hollywood. In 2006, Universal released its Universal Evolution Plan, which included plans for two new hotels, and it has been confirmed that these plans are still in place.

Site plans show that the new 500-room hotel would be located across from the park’s entrance, taking over a current parking lot and the former Saddle Ranch Chop House location. The front gate hotel would offer immersive accommodations, potentially similar to what will be offered at Universal’s Helios Grand Hotel at Epic Universe.

A spokesperson for Universal Studios Hollywood stated, “As we previously shared, we are exploring the possibility of building a hotel at Universal Studios Hollywood so our guests can enjoy all that our park has to offer.” The expansion plans remain in the exploration phase of expanding the studio, theme park, and CityWalk at Universal Studios Hollywood.
