There are SO many Disney World hotels to choose from and it can feel a bit overwhelming trying to choose the best for your family.
We are here to help though! We have a full guide to all of the Disney World hotels, and we also have one hotel that you might want to avoid in the first half of 2025.
While Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is a beautiful resort, you may want to avoid this hotel for the first few months of 2025. Not only are some of the guest rooms at the Yacht Club Resort under refurbishment, but the Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool will also be closed for maintenance. Yep, guest rooms AND the largest pool will both be under construction beginning in 2025.
That means there will be quite a bit of construction going on at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort! The guest rooms will be getting refurbished from January 2025 through May 2025, and the Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool will be closed for maintenance from January 2025 until June 2025.
In the notices posted by Disney, they do state that guest may see or hear construction work during daytime hours, but most hotel amenities will remain available. While Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool are closed, guests can use the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools. Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool are the largest pools at the Yacht Club, but it is good to know that there will at least be somewhere for guests to swim during the closure.
If you are planning on staying at Disney’s Yacht Club during the first part of 2025, do know that Disney does a good job of only doing construction work during daytime hours. There won’t be any construction noises at 2AM.
They also try their best to not have construction interfere with guests, but you will likely come across construction during your stay, especially since the pool will also be closed. It is not the end of the world, but we definitely want you to be aware of the construction projects!
