Bayou Country has officially opened!

To celebrate the opening of this re-imagined area of the park and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Tiana’s Palace has new menu items. Of course we had to try them out for ourselves, so let’s head on over to New Orleans Square in Disneyland.
While Tiana’s Palace is in New Orleans Square and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is in Bayou Country, they are close by as only the Haunted Mansion is in between the two lands. Tiana’s Palace now has THREE NEW menu items to celebrate the opening of Bayou Country; we just got them, and here is what we thought!

First up, we tried the Catfish Po’boy. This dish features a Southern-style dusted catfish filet with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise on toasted New Orleans French Bread with remoulade sauce. It is served with red beans, rice, and house-made pickles.

Honestly, we wanted more from this! The bread was super dry, so much so that we couldn’t even bite into it, but the catfish was really good! The sauce that came on the side was delicious and, while not spicy per se, certainly had a lot of spices in there that jazzed up the flavor. The homemade pickles are very good, with a sweet tang to them, and they pair well with the sandwich. The bread really brought it down a whole ton in our eyes, as well as the price, so we’d rate it a 2/5.
Next, we had Jambalaya, which has chicken, andouille sausage, heritage rice, and creole sauce.

This was incredible, every bit of it! The sausage is salty and has some heat, while the chicken and creole sauce has a tomato taste with spices galore. The chicken is moist, and the sausage has a perfect crunch, so we give this a perfect 5/5.
No meal would be complete without dessert! We tried the new Classic Beignets. It comes with two fresh beignets dusted with powdered sugar and honey drizzle. If you want to try these, you will have to get to Tiana’s Palace ASAP as they are only around from November 15th to 17th.

We are sorry to say that these were AWFUL. Our reporter absolutely loves beignets but said these were just not good. They had no fluff, no dough in the center, and the honey drizzle did nothing for them. We don’t recommend these at all and suggest sticking with the ones around the corner at the Mint Julep Bar.

In addition to the three new menu items, you can now purchase a Ray the Firefly Straw Slip — it’s so cute!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, along with all of Bayou Country, is now open, so be sure to check it out on your next visit to Disneyland! To stay up to date on all the latest Disney news and for more food reviews, make sure to continue to follow along with AllEars.
ALERT! A NEW Disney Store Is NOW OPEN and We’re Taking You Inside!

If your reporter loves beignets then they should know that there isn’t any dough inside like a donut. The dough puffs and separates when fried. I’ll admit that they are not for everyone and at disney I’ve had great ones and blah ones. Did in Disney used to be so good especially in Cali but now it’s like they aren’t even trying. Sad.
They’re not supposed to be hollow!
