REVIEW: Don’t Underestimate This Disney World Park When It Comes to Snacks!

One underrated Disney World park is now back open!

Disney’s Blizzard Beach

That’s right, Blizzard Beach Water Park reopened recently as Typhoon Lagoon Water Park closed for refurbishment, and we were there on reopening day to check out all the fun. During our visit, we tried quite a few new food items, and we’ve rounded up all our thoughts right here!

Cooling Hut

For our first review, we’re stopping at Cooling Hut to try out the S’mores Cold Brew for $5.29. Alas, despite its enticing name, this was definitely not the best snack of the day!

S’mores Cold Brew

It’s made with Joffrey’s Shakin’ Jamaican cold brew, and it was incredibly over-brewed, making it rather bitter. There’s no syrup in the coffee — all the sweet toppings are layered on top. So for people who like their coffee black, the toppings will be disappointing, and for people who like their coffee sweet, the drink itself will be disappointing. Not many winners here!

IC Expeditions

If you’re in the mood for some sweet treats, you can head to IC Expeditions! We grabbed both an ice cream sundae and a loaded up churro there.

Treats!

First we’ve got the Praline Sundae for $8.29. The balance between whipped cream/ice cream and toppings here was a little off, and that was our main complaint. The churros were crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside. We just really wish that there had been more praline topping — we want that crunch and flavor!

Praline Sundae

The Apple Pie Churro was our other choice for $9.29. Even though this is labeled as a “churro,” it’s actually made up of several mini churros. The tiny churros made this easier to eat — they’re covered in whipped cream and apple pie filling. If you love the flavor of an apple pie, you’ll probably really enjoy this because those apples are delish.

But you want to know our ultimate hack? We dipped those apple pie churros into our vanilla ice cream and it was the BOMB. Seriously so much better than the whipped cream that comes on top of the churros.

Warming Hut

Finally, we’ve got to make a trip to the Warming Hut, where we’re picking up three different items!

The eats

Starting with savory eats, we’ve got the Winter Harvest Salad with Chicken for $13.99. The salad is prepackaged, and when you order with chicken, you get a cup of the chicken and the dressing served on the side — it’s a pretty decent portion of meat. The whole salad was surprisingly flavorful, and we loved the zingy dressing. The ingredients aren’t the freshest, but it’s not bad for a theme park salad. Just make sure to pop that lid on the bowl and shake it up real good before you eat!

Another entree we tried was the Elote Nachos with Pork for $12.49. These are pretty much the same nachos you can get over at Typhoon Lagoon and they’re SO good. You get a large portion of toppings with these thick chips, and the guacamole and pickled jalapenos help vary the flavor palette overall. Our only complaint is that we wanted a smidge more corn on top.

And of course, we had to get dessert! (Yes, AGAIN. Don’t judge us.) Say hello to the Dole Whip Orange Swirl Cone for $6.29. This is pretty basic as it’s just orange Dole Whip swirled with vanilla soft serve. It reminds us a lot of a creamsicle, and it’s honestly a perfect treat for a hot day in a water park.
