Now, we all love Disney World, right?!

I mean, the lights, the sounds, the rides, and of course the food — it’s all just magical. That being said, there are times when all of it combined becomes just a bit chaotic and overwhelming to the point where we feel like we need a vacation from the vacation we’re currently on. Thinking about that, we wanted to share with you a list of the “hidden” places around Disney World where we go to “escape” for a bit and recover.
As we were saying, a vacation to Disney World can be magical and it can border on the chaotic. So, if you’re in need of a place to getaway for a bit while you’re on your vacation, have a look at these places we run to and recover!
The Solarium at Disney’s Beach Club Resort
First up, tucked away in Disney’s Beach Club Resort, is the Solarium. It’s like your own personal sanctuary.

This sun-filled room is furnished with comfy wicker chairs, cushioned sofas, and is bathed in soft, natural light streaming through large windows. It’s quiet, peaceful, and most importantly, no one’s rushing past you with a Mickey-shaped ice cream in hand.

This spot is open to anyone visiting the resort (you don’t have to be staying there to enjoy it), which makes it a perfect mid-day retreat when the parks get too chaotic. So, grab a coffee from the nearby marketplace, find a cozy corner, and just take a deep breath. Also, it’s only a short walk from EPCOT’s International Gateway, so it’s super convenient if you’re park-hopping.
The Voyageurs’ Lounge at Riviera Resort
If you’re staying near Disney’s Skyliner route or planning to check out Riviera Resort, the Voyageurs’ Lounge is a hidden gem that feels like your own secret European study room.

The vibe here is vintage yet cozy, with shelves full of books and photos from Walt Disney’s European trip in 1935. It’s a library-inspired space where you can sit back in comfy chairs and truly escape.

The atmosphere is quiet and sophisticated, so it’s a great place to decompress from the over-stimulation of the parks. Plus, since the Riviera Resort is relatively new, not many people know about this lounge yet, which makes it the perfect place to recharge your batteries.
The Lobby of the Pixar Short Film Festival in EPCOT
Over in EPCOT’s World Celebration, tucked just next to Journey Into Imagination with Figment, is a place you probably wouldn’t think of as an escape spot. But hear me out. The lobby of the Pixar Short Film Festival is surprisingly chill.

While waiting for the next film screening, most people breeze through this area without realizing it’s a great place to sit down and relax for a few minutes. It’s a low-key, air-conditioned hideaway when EPCOT gets too overwhelming.
Carolwood Pacific Railroad Room at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
History buffs, train enthusiasts, or just anyone needing a cozy spot to unwind will love the Carolwood Pacific Railroad Room at Wilderness Lodge.

This quiet nook, named after Walt Disney’s personal backyard railroad, is filled with train memorabilia, historic photos, and a calming, rustic atmosphere. It’s easy to miss, but once you find it, you won’t want to leave.

With its warm wood tones and quiet ambiance, this room is the perfect place to catch your breath and reset before heading back into the chaos.

You’ll feel miles away from the crowded parks, even though you’re still right on Disney property.
Frontierland’s Hidden Outcropping Overlooking Rivers of America
Okay, this one’s a little bittersweet because it’s not going to be around much longer, but if you can make it there before the construction for the new Cars attractions begins, there’s a “hidden” spot in Frontierland with a perfect view of the Rivers of America. This little outcropping isn’t marked on any map, but it’s often blissfully uncrowded and offers a beautiful view of the riverboats and Tom Sawyer Island.

It’s one of those rare, quiet outdoor spots where you can just sit and take it all in, without a stroller brigade passing by every 30 seconds. Sadly, peaceful spots like this will soon be gone, but if you happen to visit before construction ramps up, it’s absolutely worth seeking out.
Citricos Lounge at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
If you’re looking for a classy escape, the Citricos Lounge at the Grand Floridian Resort is your answer. This upscale spot is elegant, refined, and offers a calm atmosphere where you can grab a drink or a light snack without the frenzy of a full restaurant.

The lounge area is separated from the main dining room, which means it’s much quieter, which is perfect for a mid-afternoon breather or a pre-dinner wind-down. It’s also conveniently located near Magic Kingdom, so if you’re ready to run away from the castle crowds, hop on the monorail and head here for a little taste of luxury.
Restaurantosaurus Lounge at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Yes, Animal Kingdom can get just as chaotic as the other parks, but there’s a hidden gem inside the Restaurantosaurus in DinoLand USA. This little lounge area is tucked away from the bustling restaurant, offering a low-key place to sit down, sip on a drink, and enjoy a small bite to eat.

What’s great about this spot is that it’s casual, easygoing, and often overlooked by park guests. Whether you need to escape the midday sun or just sit down for a moment, this lounge is a perfect hideaway.
