Two of America’s most popular brands are teaming up.

For many Americans, the first name they think of when they hear “coffee” is Starbucks, and the first name they think of when they hear “hotel” is Marriott. So, it only stands to reason that these two monolithic cultural juggernauts would join forces to offer benefits aimed at their respective reward members.
Until October 18th, new Starbucks Rewards Members can earn 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy points when they join and link their Starbucks account with their Marriott Bonvoy account. All members who link their two accounts can also transfer points to Starbucks Stars, where they’ll get 100 Stars for every 1,000 points they transfer, which is more than enough for a brewed coffee or tea or a bakery item.

Additional benefits for linking Starbucks and Bonvoy accounts include:
- Earning Double Stars on “qualifying Starbucks purchases during eligible stays at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy.”
- Earning 100 points after “three qualifying purchases at participating U.S. Starbucks stores during any Marriott Bonvoy Week.”
The Starbucks/Marriott relationship was announced earlier this year. At the time, David Flueck, Global Head of Loyalty, Cards & Enterprise Partnerships, Marriott International, said of the relationship, “I love my regular morning cup of Starbucks coffee, and find I enjoy it even more when traveling. So, Marriott Bonvoy’s collaboration with Starbucks makes perfect sense. We will truly satisfy our members’ passions for coffee and travel with the opportunity to earn more points and Stars while traveling and at home, and later this year by bringing those passions together when we introduce exclusive coffee- and travel-themed experiences on Marriott Bonvoy Moments.”

Kyndra Russell, Starbucks’ Chief Marketing Officer for North America, added, “Marriott Bonvoy’s commitment to enriching moments for their customers aligns with Starbucks’ customer promise to uplift the everyday, making them the perfect loyalty partner. We’re continuing to develop our Starbucks Rewards program, and through this new collaboration, we are excited to offer members even more value and enhanced benefits through travel experiences.”

Starbucks first launched its loyalty program back in 2007. In the close to two decades since, the program has become one of the most popular in retail.
The news of this partnership should also be news to the ears of fans of the Swan & Dolphin hotels at Walt Disney World. In case you didn’t know, both the Swan and the Dolphin are operated by Marriott International, who acquired the hotel’s original operator, Starwood, in the mid-2010s. So, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn points from staying there and also use them towards their Starbucks rewards.

Of course, there are multiple Starbucks locations across Walt Disney World, including at all four of the resort’s theme parks, as well as Disney Springs.

Marriott’s current Bonvoy loyalty program was founded in 2019 when the company merged three previous rewards programs: Marriott Rewards, Ritz-Carlton Rewards, and Starwood Preferred Guest into one program.

If you’re a member of both Marriott and Starbucks rewards programs, we’d advise linking your accounts ASAP to take the best advantage of these benefits. Stay tuned to AllEars for more on potential deals and discounts!

This doesn’t work. If there were supposed to be 1000 points added to your Bonvoy account, I have yet to see mine.
Yes, I will link my 2 accounts.
