Disney Adults are those of us who have either grown up loving and visiting the Disney parks or those of us who grew into adults who can’t get enough now that we’ve been there.
As Disney Adults we’ve figured out the in’s and out’s of Disney World. Many of us plan our vacations very specifically so we get through everything that we want to see and do. We know the times of every show, where the best places to eat are, and which rides to avoid at certain times of the day. We have also figured out our hotel rooms down to very specific areas and views for varying reasons, which is why we keep requesting particular buildings and views when booking our stay!
Disney World offers three types of hotels — Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. Each of these comes with different price points, perks, and amenities. Value resorts are the least expensive while Deluxe resorts are the most expensive, and Moderate resorts fall somewhere in the middle.
Some Disney World hotels are incredibly spread out. These hotels are ones like Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach Resort, Port Orleans, and others. You’ll notice several buildings spread out along a couple of miles of walking paths at many of these resorts.
At these resorts, we Disney Adults have started to request specific buildings and areas for our hotel rooms. For example, Pop Century and Art of Animation are near a Skyliner station that they share. Some buildings at each resort are closer to this station than others, and people may request to be in one of those buildings as opposed to one that is a much further walk to get there. If you’re looking for a close walk, buildings 4 and 5 at both Pop Century and Art of Animation are closest to the Skyliner station.
Your request for a specific building or area may not always be approved, but Cast Members do work to accommodate your request if it’s possible. Just remember that it is a request, and if they can’t make it happen, you may end up in another area of the hotel.
At other Disney World hotels, Disney Adults are requesting specific views! Many Deluxe Resorts such as Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and others offer spectacular views. When you book these resorts you can usually choose between a few different views. There’s usually a standard view, but there may also be a lake view or savannah view depending on the hotel.
You may also be able to request a partial view room which may come at the standard room rate. These just might not have as much of a view as another room might. You can book these views on the website of each hotel if they’re available for the dates you’re searching, or you can call to book your room and ask for the view then. Views are going to depend on availability.
When you’ve been to Disney World tons of times or you do research on each of the hotels, you may be able to narrow down your preferred room! These are not guaranteed, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
