While we know the Halloween season just started, we feel it is never too early to start getting excited about the holidays.

Don’t get us wrong—we love the spooky season, but it is also exciting to think about what comes right after. And it is not just Disney World that goes all out for the holiday season. Dollywood also celebrates the holidays in style, and Smoky Mountain Christmas starts in just a few months.
Dollywood is in Tennessee, and this theme park knows how to ring in the holiday season. If you are itching for some holiday cheer, you will want to head to Dollywood on November 1st, as this is when the holiday season officially starts at the park.

Smoky Mountain Christmas runs from November 1st to January 5th, giving you just over two months to enjoy this event. Coined the “Best Christmas Event in America”, Dollywood transforms into a winter wonderland.

The park will be decked out in more than 6 million twinkling lights. You can visit Santa’s Village, which has bright green and red hues. Or stroll on over to Glacier Ridge, which is adorned with white and blue lights. Of course, there will be plenty of Christmas Trees that can tower up to 12 feet.

There will even be specialty entertainment. Family-favorite shows like “Christmas in the Smokies” and “Twas the Night Before Christmas” will return this year on the indoor stages. Outdoor entertainment will include performances of “Appalachian Christmas,” “Holiday Wild Roots,” and “O Holy Night.”

No festival is complete without food, and this year, you can try “hearty holiday dishes and seasonal sweet treats,” which include stick-to-your-ribs offerings like pork belly, sweet Italian sausage, and turkey skillets. There are also plenty of sweets, like holiday cookies and cupcakes.

We are so excited for the holiday season and to start seeing holiday decorations show up at both Disney World and Dollywood.

If you can’t make it to Dollywood this holiday season, Disney World will have tons of holiday fun. The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays starts on November 29th and runs through December 30th.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will return to Magic Kingdom, and tickets are now on sale for this specialty after hours event.

The holidays at Disney World usually kick off in mid-November, so if you are looking for some holiday cheer a little earlier, make sure to visit Dollywood for a Smoky Mountain Christmas. As always, keep following along with AllEars.net for more holiday theme park news.

Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, is also owned by the Herschend Entertainment and also does a large Christmas display and celebration like Dollywood. I believe their celebration also starts November 1.
