Universal Studios is gearing up for a massive celebration of sci-fi fandoms, and we don’t think we could love it more!

Between the new Mega Movie Parade and an incredible seasonal tribute store celebrating the classic films that built the foundation for Universal Studios Orlando, we’ve learned of another opportunity coming soon for Universal! If you’ve been feeling some major FOMO out at Universal Studios Hollywood, it’s safe to say the tables are turning in your favor sooner than you may think!
A first-of-its-kind celebration is coming to Universal Hollywood very soon! Universal has just announced plans for its very own FanFest Nights, set to take over the park this coming spring.

Although this is just the announcement to tease the event, Universal stated this event will “celebrate the best of Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Gaming, and Anime with your fellow fans like never before.” These nights will be an all-new, after-hours event taking us into the worlds of sci-fi fan favorites like Star Trek, Back to the Future, Dungeons & Dragons, and more. The event nights are expected to be filled with immersive experiences, celebratory moments, themed food, and exclusive merchandise that will elevate your fandom to a whole new level!

In order to make our wildest sci-fi dreams come true, Universal has once again chosen to collaborate with the creators of one of its biggest seasonal successes, Halloween Horror Nights. HHN is a decades-long running, special ticketed after-hours event built exclusively to play into the worst fears and nightmares of the horror and macabre obsessed. They’ve won many awards over the years for their immersive theming and original storylines and have proven successful in translating major Universal and NBC IP franchises into scaled, walkable experiences that leave people talking for months afterward.

They tend to do a banger of a job on the food menus, too, which leads us to breathe a sigh of relief that the creative geniuses behind the event have its best interest (and fullest set up for success) in mind.

While Universal was able to offer this tease for now, they also mentioned that their lineup is expanding and they’ll have more to reveal soon! We’re totally stoked to hear that Universal is digging deep for this one to unite the sci-fi fans under one event, and we’re eager to hear more details about the event once they’re released.
