Universal Orlando

There are so many new things to do, including exploring the Universal Epic Universe Preview Center in CityWalk. The new park is set to open in 2025, but that isn’t the only new thing in Universal. OH NO, NO! While we wait for 2025 to arrive, there are plenty of other things to enjoy in the parks — including a brand-new PARADE! Let’s go check it out!

Universal has been debuting several new experiences this summer, including a new nighttime show, a new show on the Hogwarts castle in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and an entire new land (DreamWorks Land)!

But wait…there’s MORE. Another new addition that has arrived at Universal Orlando is the Universal Mega Movie Parade. And trust us, you’re going to want to make time for it!

The parade started on July 3rd (it was the first day of dress rehearsals), and it was LARGE. It’s actually Universal Orlando’s BIGGEST daytime parade to date. This parade truly has it all — 13 NEW floats, almost 100 performers (from dancers to skaters, stilt walkers, and more), and special effects too!

So, just what stories can you expect to see represented in the parade? Well, keep an eye out for nods to classic movies like E.T., Back to the Future, Jaws, and Ghostbusters.

Plus, you’ll want to be on the lookout for floats and characters from Jurassic World, Illumination’s Minions and Sing, and DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls and Kung Fu Panda.

One of the most epic parts of the parade is the HUUUUUGE 16-foot Stay Puft Marshmallow Man that’s on top of the Ghostbusters float.

On the Trolls float, you’ll find a colorful Caterbus and rainbows (of course).

SO cute!

And listen carefully when the Jaws float passes by as there is a live marching drum line performing the movie’s iconic score.

It’s amazing!

The grand finale consists of a Jurassic World float, complete with a Gyrosphere, Raptors, and even a T-Rex.

We also can’t get over the amazing E.T. Float — not only are there amazing bikers that ride around ahead of the float, but those people on TOP of the bikes on the float? Yeah, those are REAL people! All the way up there!

This is an EPIC float!

Want to take things to the next level? Grab a NEW bubble wand inspired by Trolls, Minions, or Jurassic World. These special wands actually interact with some of the floats in the parade!
