There is so much new coming to the theme parks this summer! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is opening in Magic Kingdom, CommuniCore Hall & Plaza just opened in EPCOT, and Universal Orlando is also debuting some brand-new stuff!

We stopped by Universal Orlando Resort to get a sneak peek at some of the new entertainment offerings coming to Universal Studios, including CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular.
Beginning June 14th, 2024, guests will be able to explore the new DreamWorks Land at Universal Studios and experience CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular. We were able to take a look inside DreamWorks Land a few weeks back, and now we are getting a first look at CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular and we are taking you with us!

CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular is a brand-new nighttime show that will be taking place at Universal Studios on the lagoon. This show features iconic scores from classics like E.T., Jaws, Harry Potter and Ghostbusters. The show will also utilize fountains, projections, and drones, to celebrate the magic of music in the art of storytelling. The show officially debuts on June 14th, 2024, but we got a first look ahead of its opening night.

Let’s just start by saying that we thought this new show was fantastic! It is a musical water show, with the addition of fireworks, projection mapping, and drones!

This show is all about celebrating movie music and you get to experience some great Universal and DreamWorks movies during the show. You will hear music from movies such as The Mummy, Back to the Future, Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon, and so many more. Along with the music, there are lots of moving fountains, projections, and drones that come together for a fantastic viewing experience.

The show has A LOT going on, but in the best way possible. The music, fountains, projections, drones, and fireworks come together really well to give a multi-dimensional and exciting experience.

The drones mostly create 2D images, compared to the drones in the “Disney Dreams That Soar” show which create more multi-dimensional images. However, the drones are not the main focus of the show, so we thought the 2D images actually worked really well.

We really enjoyed the Minions scene, where the show pretends to break, and the Minions are called in to fix it. You can see Minions in the windows of the buildings across the water running around and catching stuff on fire. We thought it was such an adorable moment!

We thought this show was an absolute blast, and we think it is definitely a must-see show. It is probably one of the best Universal nighttime show we have seen!

The best viewing for this show will be in the Central Park area. We recommend arriving early to get a spot. You will get the best view of the drones and the projection mapping from this area. We have a feeling if you are across the water (in the New York and San Francisco areas), you may not be able to see the drones very well.

We think you should definitely add this show to your list of must-do things at Universal Studios. And if you are looking for even more must-do things, check out our video that has 20 others:
We are so thankful to be able to preview this new show before it officially opens! Overall, we were so impressed by this show, and we think it is a great addition to Universal Studios. Stay tuned to AllEars for even more Universal Orlando news!
