There were so many announcements made by Disney during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event!
Disney parks around the world are getting expansions and new attractions. There were lots of announcements, so we thought we would break them down a bit and round-up all the announcements for Disneyland Resort!
Disneyland Resort got quite a few major announcements, and there are going to be lots of things to look forward to in the coming years. Let’s take a look at what attractions are coming to Disneyland Resort!
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Opening Date
Disney also announced the opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disneyland Park! While this attraction has already opened in Disney World, the Disneyland attraction will be opening on November 15th, 2024.
“Walt Disney — A Magical Life”
Disney announced that a new show called “Walt Disney: A Magical Life”will be rotating in the theater with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. When this show debuts in 2025, it will feature the first-ever audio-animatronic of Walt Disney himself.
Walt Disney: A Magical Life will debut inside the Main Street Opera House, and after its initial run, it will play in rotation with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.
New Mission on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers will be receiving a updated mission in 2026.
When the new film, The Mandalorian and Grogu, hits theaters in 2026, the brand-new storyline featuring Mando and his youngling will come to the ride at both Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Avengers Campus Expansion
The Avengers Campus will not only be doubling in size, but Disney will also be adding two new attractions to the area. Construction is expected to begin next year.
The first new attraction will be called Avengers Infinity Defense. In this attraction, “technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds has gone missing, and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc everywhere.” You will be joining the mission and traveling to locations such as Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City, and you even come face-to-face with King Thanos himself.
In addition to Avengers Infinity Defense, there will be another new attraction coming to Avengers Campus called Stark Flight Lab. This attraction will make you feel like a superhero as you enter into the flight lab.
Coco Attraction
The first-ever Coco ride will be coming to Disney California Adventure. The new attraction is expected to break ground in 2026.
This brand-new attraction will take you on a journey with Miguel to the land of the dead. The attraction will be filled with the characters and music that we love from Coco.
Avatar-themed Area
Disney California Adventure will be getting a new Avatar-themed area inspired by Avatar: The Way of Water and upcoming films from the franchise. In this new area, there will also be a brand-new Avatar ride!
The attraction will take you on “an excursion in search of majestic natural wonders that can only be found on Pandora.” You will travel through valleys, open seas, and creepy caves aboard a boat ride.
Disney also released some concept art for this new attraction. Even though it’s a boat ride, it seems that this experience will vary significantly from the Na’vi River Journey ride currently at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The first addition to Disneyland comes with the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on November 15th, 2024, and then even more additions are on their way in 2025 and 2026. In the meantime, make sure to check out our video of the perfect day in Disneyland:
