It’s been a HUGE day for Disney movies.
At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney held an Entertainment Showcase on the evening of Friday, August 9th and it was jam-packed with announcements! We even got an update on one of the biggest Disney franchises of all time — Frozen.
Jennifer Lee, the Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, confirmed that Frozen 3 will be released in 2027. That may be a few years away, but if it’s anything like Frozen 2, it’s worth the wait!
Disney also said that the story will probably go beyond a third movie. That’s right — Frozen 4 could also become a reality. There’s no timeline for this movie right now, but it was teased by Bob Iger last year. Based on how many times they mentioned it, we have a pretty good feeling it will become a reality!
That’s not all of the Frozen news though! Disney also revealed that a filmed version of the Frozen Broadway musical will debut on Disney+ in 2025! In this version, Samantha Barks will play Elsa.
