If you’re budgeting your time and money for only one Disney trip in 2025, have you considered doing the Disney Cruise Line (DCL) instead of the Disney Parks? With tons in store next year, the DCL could be an amazing and unique Disney vacation that might be perfect for you and your family!
As we mentioned, the Disney Cruise Line has some fun changes coming up next year, and three ships in particular have caught our attention. Let’s go over these ships and why you should be hyped to vacation aboard them in 2025!
Disney Treasure
About to become the latest addition to the DCL fleet, the Disney Treasuresets sail at the end of this year in December with a 7-night itinerary through the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
The Disney Treasure is gearing up to be a ship both kids and adults will love. We recently got a first look at dining options coming to the ship and they look incredible! Plaza de Coco is themed after the village of Santa Cecilia from Pixar’s Coco and features a “menu that draws inspiration from Miguel’s colorful world.”
Another restaurant coming to the ship is Scat Cat Lounge. Inspired by Disney’s 1970 animated classic The Aristocats (specifically the “Ev’rybody Wants to be a Cat” musical number), Scat Cat Lounge has been billed as a place with “swinging live music, decor nods to the Walt Disney Animation Studios film and a themed craft cocktail menu.”
Another restaurant we’re really looking forward to is Jumbeaux’s Sweets. The Disney Treasure’s candy and treat shop will be themed after Disney’s Zootopia and includes menu items “inspired by the beloved characters from the bustling mammal metropolis that Judy Hopps calls home.”
As for entertainment, we have learned about “Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix.” This Groot-hosted dining experience will follow the lovable Marvel character on an on-screen quest to throw a surprise party for Rocket Raccoon. Diners will be treated to an “awesome mix” of songs while answering Marvel trivia questions.
Another show coming to the ship is “Disney The Tale of Moana”, the first stage adaptation of Moana. It will have “set design and music bursting with elements of Pacific Islands culture” and “will immerse audiences in a transformational adventure across land and sea.” During this show, you’ll see massive puppets, old and new music, and stage transformations.
Other fun features aboard the Disney Treasure include the 1923 Restaurant, Mulan-themed Jade Cricket Café, a Beauty and the Beast musical performance, the AquaMouse water coaster, clubs, pools, theaters, play zones, a spa, and so much more!
The Disney Destinyis scheduled to set sail in November 2025 and will boast Disney, Pixar, and Marvel theming as it takes passengers on 4- and 5-night cruises from Fort Lauderdale to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean.
Focusing on Disney heroes and villains, the Disney Destiny will feature all kinds of characters and a critical choice — you must pick a side: Heroes or Villains.
According to Disney, Imagineers were “inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story when developing this new ship, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose.”
Like all other Disney ships before it, the Disney Destiny will have rotational dining in addition to some signature dining restaurants. For example, Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion Kingwill bring “the iconic songs and legendary moments of the renowned animated classic to life for your family throughout dinner.” During your meal, you will witness a musical story of the soundtrack from The Lion King, where performers will use authentic African instruments and theatrical props to portray the characters.
Other restaurants include Edna Á La Mode Sweets (based on the character from Pixar’s The Incredibles), Cafe Megara & Cafe Merida (based on Meg from Hercules and Merida from Brave), and a Haunted Mansion Parlor.
It can’t be sailing without some pirates! The Pirates of the Caribbean-themed Cask and Cannon lounge will have guests “join the ranks of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ for an evening of revelry, recreation and — of course — rum.”
The new pub is described as “an eclectic yet cozy watering hole furnished with treasures.” The menu will include rare rums as well as “bootlegged” brews that will be developed exclusively for this spot and served straight from the barrel.
If you’re a fan of Disney villains, you have to check out De Vil’s! This piano lounge will feature “sultry tunes from the spotted piano” as guests are served “trendy martinis, chic cocktails, and glamorous wines and bubbles.”
The seventh addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet, the Disney Adventure will have its home port in Singapore. We can expect to see Disney, Marvel, and Pixar stories aboard this new ship.
Not much is known about this ship yet, but we do know it intends to set sail in 2025 and will include the Disney Imagination Garden, an enchanted valley inspired by 100+ years of Disney stories. This space will also feature performances on an open-air stage.
We also know it will include shopping and dining options based on The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, Finding Nemo, and Luca.San Fransokyo Street, based on the world of Big Hero 6, will serve as a family entertainment area with interactive games and activities, shops, cinemas, and more.
Finally, expect to see poolside retreats, the Disney Princesses-inspired Town Square (a fantastical forest filled with shops, lounges, cafes, restaurants, and entertainment venues), Marvel Landing (an area with thrilling attractions and Avengers-themed experiences), and the Toy Story Place, featuring Andy’s Room in a whimsical and interactive water play zone along with different themed food options.
