WOW, y’all. The Disney Cruise Line news has been pouring in the last few days!

We’ve learned about a Lion King restaurant, a Haunted Mansion Bar, a Pirates Bar, and a villains-themed ride (and that’s just a few of the announcements)! Now, we thought we’d chat about all of the characters that Disney has shared will be onboard the ship. Some of these characters we will be able to meet and others will be part of shows and experiences. We’re going to warn ya though…the list is pretty amazing!
Before these announcements, we knew that the Disney Destiny would set sail in 2025 and would have a first-of-its-kind theme centered around heroes and villains from iconic Disney films.

Not only that, you have to CHOOSE a side aboard the ship, which is thrilling and stressful, in our eyes! In Disney’s own words, the ship is “inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story when developing this new ship, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose.”

So, here’s a look at the iconic characters that will be onboard the ship!
On the Disney Destiny, we will encounter loads of villains — including Maleficent, Hades, Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee and Oogie Boogie. Captain Jack Sparrow, Bruno, and Loki have been mentioned too! These characters will appear through a variety of shows, meet-and-greets, and special appearances throughout the ship.

Disney has shared that an Oogie Boogie Dance Party will take place IN his lair (Excuse me, am I dreaming???) and there will be a Disney trivia event that is interrupted by VILLAINS!!

But, that’s not all!! Of course, heroes will also be onboard the ship. You can expect to see characters from The Lion King, Hercules, and One Hundred and One Dalmatians as well. Specific characters have not yet been mentioned.
Ready for more?! Well, as we shared above, there will also be a Haunted Mansion bar on the Disney Destiny. In this bar, characters from the Haunted Mansion attractions all over the world will socialize in mysterious ways. There will also be new “arrivals and an original storyline focused on a ship captain.”

We can’t wait to set sail on this new ship and experience all it has to offer! However, planning a Disney Cruise can be stressful, we get it! If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel.
