Well, sort of. We are officially halfway to the holidays, and Disney has officially shared ALL of the nitty gritty details on what we can expect for this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Disney World. If you’re like us and are counting down the days before you can officially put up your Christmas tree, hang up the family stockings, and blast Mariah Carey, keep reading to find out how you can celebrate at Disney World this winter as well.

If you’re unfamiliar with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, it’s a specially ticketed after-hours event that takes place in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. You’ll get to enter the parks as early as 4PM before the event takes place from 7PM to 12AM. During the event, you’ll get to grab special treats, experience very low wait times for the rides, and celebrate the holidays in true Disney fashion! So, what all will return for this year’s Christmas Party? Let’s talk about it!

Dates

This year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party nights are November 8th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st, 22nd, 24th, 26th, 27th and 29th, and December 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th and 20th. The party lasts from 7:00PM to 12:00AM, and ticket holders can enter the Magic Kingdom beginning at 4:00PM.

Treats

As usual with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, complimentary cookies and hot cocoa are included with party admission and are available at various locations around the Magic Kingdom. In addition,  the Letter to Santa — a flourless chocolate cake with hot cocoa mousse and marshmallows topped with chocolate pieces — is available from the Main Street Bakery.

Merchandise

According to Disney, “festive finds to remember this seasonal celebration” will be available, including spirit jerseys, long-sleeved shirts, t-shirts, mugs, ornaments, and trading items like pins.

Parade

The beloved Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade is returning once again. Taking place each party night at 8:30 and 11:00, this parade features “dancing gingerbread men, marching toy soldiers and beloved Disney Characters as they float by, waving hello. There’s even a special appearance by Santa Claus—riding in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.”

Fireworks

As in years past, the night is highlighted by a performance of Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show. This extravaganza illuminates the sky with “festive colors to the tune of some of your favorite carols like “Deck the Halls” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” The show goes on each party night at 10:00PM

Characters & Shows

Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration is a “jubilant” stage show starring Mickey Mouse which “fills the air with music, laughter, shimmering snowflakes—and a whole lot of Disney Characters, too!”The show is performed each party night at 7:40 PM, 9:25 PM, 10:35 PM, and 11:55 PM.

In addition, there are several dance parties throughout the park including Frozen Holiday Surprise, Club Tinsel, and the Disney Junior Jingle Jam. In addition, characters decked out in their holiday best can be found around the park.

Attractions

Several Magic Kingdom attractions will feature special holiday overlays. These include:

  • A special version of Space Mountain featuring a “journey through the cosmos with high-energy holiday tunes and festive interior lighting.”
  • The Tomorrowland Speedway Race Through the Holidays, features a “festive freeway filled with thousands of lights, stylized décor and a fun, futuristic holiday soundtrack.”

  • Mad Tea Party is recast as a “wild and wacky Christmas party––where you can spin your teacup to one of 4 holiday combos of lights and music.”
  • Jingle Cruise, a reworking of the iconic attraction “packed with holiday-themed puns.” Jingle Cruise is available all day long.
  • Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor “puts some “ha ha ha” in their “ho ho ho” with a seasonal holiday-themed show.

Dining

Dessert parties for Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks will be held at both the Tomorrowland Terrace and the Plaza Gardens viewing area, with reservations becoming available in September.

In addition, table service dining will be available at Be Our Guest Restaurant, Cinderella’s Royal Table, and The Plaza Restaurant with reservations once again opening in September.

Tickets

Tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party go on sale for Walt Disney World hotel guests on July 2nd, allowing them to purchase tickets for event dates during their stay. All other Guests may purchase tickets beginning on July 10th. Tickets cost between $169 to $219, varying by event date. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 per ticket to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party events on November 8th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st and 22nd, and December 1st, 3rd, and 5th.

  1. No! Tried twice….10 years apart …not worth the extra $$$ on top of our multi day ticket package….hot cocoa not hot….long lines for a cookie….seeing the shows impossible since I’m on ECV and even though got there early…people
    Use through late and then stand in front of me….no accommodations for ECVs to not be blocked by people who are just rude
