Universal Just Dropped a TON of News About Its NEW Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe

Epic Universe isn’t set to open until 2025, but Universal Orlando keeps sharing loads of details about its third park.

We’ve learned a lot about its five lands, including loads of details about the Isle of Berk, which is themed to How To Train Your Dragon. Well, Universal just dropped a TON of new details about its upcoming Super Nintendo World, and we’re going to tell you about it all.

As you may know, Super Nintendo World already exists in a few other Universal parks around the world. Universal Studios Japan and Universal Studios Hollywood both feature a version of this same land. But now, a NEW Super Nintendo World is coming to Orlando. Let’s see what’s in store!

Rides and Attractions

First up, Universal shared NEW details about the rides and attractions coming to Super Nintendo World on the East Coast.

In Super Nintendo World, you’ll be able to check out a FUN attraction called Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge. This ride takes you on an adventure with Team Mario, where you will battle Team Bowser for the Golden Cup. The attraction “fuses augmented reality, projection mapping technology, and elaborate environments to bring the fun of the Mario Kart video game series to life in a compelling ride-through experience.”

Within the attraction, you will enter Bowser’s Castle, make your way through the corridors, then board a kart and RACE through various Mario Kart courses, collecting coins, tossing shells, avoiding obstacles, and more. We can’t wait to see this attraction come to life in Epic Universe!

Additionally, you will be able to ride Yoshi’s Adventure — a family-friendly ride where you can enjoy special views of the land aboard a Yoshi as you travel through the Mushroom Kingdom in search of glowing eggs! You never know what kinds of familiar characters you may spot along the way.

Plus, be sure to look out for the special character meet-and-greets throughout the land! You’ll be able to meet Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad in Super Mario Land.

But wait! There’s more! On the outskirts of Super Mario Land, you will find an entrance to Donkey Kong Country — a lush, tropical landscape with trees, waterfalls, The (iconic) Golden Temple, and more. There will even be a new attraction in this area called Mine-Cart Madness.

On this coaster, you will board a mine cart and ride through the jungle to help Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong protect the coveted golden banana. Universal is calling this a “first-of-its-kind family coaster” with “innovative technology and a unique coaster design.” In fact, the coaster will feature special maneuvers straight from old Nintendo video games. We’re talking tricks like getting blasted out of a barrel, “seemingly” jumping over gaps, and more.

Restaurants

We also finally got a few more details about what restaurants Super Nintendo World will have. We’re SUPER excited to see Toadstool Cafe come to Epic Universe! Here, you can try a variety of tasty dishes inspired by inspired world Super Mario and his friends. Look out for Mario and Luigi-themed burgers, Super Mushroom Soup, Piranha Plant Caprese, and Fire Flower Spaghetti and Meatballs.

Additionally, a Yoshi’s Snack Island and Turbo Boost Treats spot will offer up treats, snacks, and beverages at a walk-up dining location.

Shops

Universal even revealed the names of the shops you’ll find in Super Nintendo World, where you can buy all kinds of cool Nintendo merchandise. Get ready to drop some coins at the 1-UP Factory and Mario Motors, which will feature all kinds of exclusive souvenirs, apparel, and toys.

While you’re in Super Nintendo World, you can also have a little EXTRA fun with a Power-Up Band, which Universal calls “a wearable for [your] wrist that allows [you] to enhance [your] play throughout Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country.” We’ve seen this special technology in use at Universal’s other Super Nintendo Worlds, so we’re not totally surprised to see it come to Orlando.
