Wait. You’re Telling Me a DRAGON CHEF Is Coming to Universal Epic Universe?

Was anyone else FREAKING OUT over Universal Orlando‘s massive announcement earlier this week?

In case you missed it, Epic Universe, the new Universal park coming to Orlando in 2025, released a TON of concept art and more news about what we can expect to see in the new How To Train Your Dragon Land! And while we were impressed by all of it, there’s one thing we just REALLY can’t get over.

OK, let’s talk about one of our FAVORITE parts of any theme park: the food. Three new restaurants will be available to choose from, including Mead Hall, Spit Fyre Grill, and Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel. While all of these sound super exciting, one part of Universal’s announcement made us do a double-take.

In the description for the new Spit Fyre Grill, it says you can enjoy “delicious, hearty meals flame-seared by a helpful (unseen) dragon fry cook.”

A DRAGON COOK?! Hold on, Universal. What does this mean? You say “unseen,” but does that mean we’re dining with a SECRET chef? Or maybe we will hear roars every now and then and see some dragon-shaped shadows? Or is it just part of the restaurant’s lore, and we REALLY never see any semblance of a dragon?

We certainly hope to find out more, even if it’s just small details that point to a dragon cook (because how COOL is THAT?)

While we’d love to be able to meet a dragon cook, we can settle with the Toothless meet and greet we’re getting.
