Universal fans have a lot to look forward to in the next few years.

From a year-round horror-focused destination coming to Las Vegas to Epic Universe, the massive project in the works for Orlando — theme parks and experiences will be popping up around the country soon. In Frisco, Texas, a new family-focused park is on its way, and Universal has shared some big news on what we can expect — including its official name.
We’ve slowly been learning more and more about this unique theme park coming to Texas. Universal announced in December that the new name for this upcoming park is “Universal Kids Resort,” which it describes as “the company’s first-ever theme park designed specifically for families with young children.” They later shared the park’s logo on Instagram.

Recently, we noticed that Universal filed trademark applications for “UNIVERSAL KIDS RESORT,” for use in theme parks, clothing, books, and more.

Earlier this year, Universal shared concept art for the park that gave us a general sense of what we might be able to see once the park opens. We’ve even seen some changes and evolution in the vision of the theme park with updated concept art. We’ve seen new details about what it will feature — including “family-friendly attractions, interactive and playful shows, unique merchandise, fun food and beverage venues and character meet and greets.”

We also know that the resort will include a 300-room, themed hotel for those looking to stay on property. Progress on the park is creating over 2,500 new construction jobs in the region.
Well, today, we learned that this project has hit another progress milestone! A Dallas-local utility company, Moss Utilities, has been tapped with a contract for the site utilities. Their services include storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water, fire lines, duct banks, and emergency services.
This foundation will provide the first phase of plumbing, sanitation, and emergency basics for the theme park and resort hotel. It may not be the fancy or artistic development we’re excited about, but we can all agree that modern plumbing and running water are vacation luxuries we don’t wanna miss out on!

Plus, this infrastructure will allow us to enjoy all of the beautiful and creative attractions we’re looking forward to!
This is just another step in the progress of this exciting new theme park. We’ll keep an eye out for any updates on this and other Universal news, so stay tuned to AllEars for more!
