The Big Perk MISSING From Most Disney World Hotels

Staying at a Disney World hotel comes with a whole lotta perks.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

From free transportation and Early Theme Park Entry to snagging early dining reservations and more, the list can go on and on. But, there’s a major perk that’s actually missing from most Disney World hotels and we’re telling you all about it.

Not all Disney World hotels are created equally — but you probably know that already. Depending on what sort of budget you’re working with, you have the option of staying in a Value, Moderate, or Deluxe Resort. As the name implies, Deluxe Resorts often come with the most amenities — but at a higher cost.

Value and Moderate resorts offer a ton of great perks as well. They feature the same free transportation and Early Theme Park Entry as Deluxe Resorts, plus restaurants, dining, recreation, and more. But, there’s one major perk that’s missing from most Disney World hotels — gyms!

That’s right, gyms — or Fitness Centers as Disney calls them — are few and far between in the hotels. Unlike a majority of hotels elsewhere, you’ll only find Fitness Centers at Disney World Deluxe hotels.

Athletique Fitness Center

Disney World Fitness Centers feature a full line of state-of-the-art exercise equipment and free weights, with personal training often available. Anyone 14 and older staying at a Disney World hotel with a Fitness Center is able to use the equipment for free.

You can access a Fitness Center by scanning your MagicBand or room key — as long as you’re staying at that Deluxe hotel.

So, which hotels do have fitness centers? Check out the list below:

  • Athletique Fitness Center at Riviera Resort
  • La Vida Health Club and Fitness Center at Coronado Springs Resort
  • Fitness Center at Coronado Springs’ Gran Destino Tower
  • Muscles and Bustles Health Club at BoardWalk Inn & Villas
  • Old Key West Exercise Room at Old Key West Resort
  • Olympiad Fitness Center at Contemporary Resort
  • Ship Shape Fitness Center at Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
  • Sturdy Branches Health Center at Wilderness Lodge
  • Zahanati Massage & Fitness Center at Animal Kingdom Lodge

So, if you’re trying to get a workout in on your Disney World vacation, you may need to consider booking a hotel at a Deluxe Resort. While they are the most expensive option, they do come with the most perks out of all the different types of hotels Disney offers, so keep that in mind!

  1. The amount of walking done on a daily basis at WDW, you couldn’t pay me to go to a gym. lol
I would love to see more hot tubs in the resorts though. After a long day in the park, my feet and legs would love that.
