Some Florida laws are changing soon, and they’ll affect the way you travel and stop on the roads. Let’s talk about it!

According to Click Orlando, there are several new laws or new revisions that go into effect in Florida on January 1st, 2024. Here are the two biggest ones that could affect you while traveling.

SB-76: State Park Campsite Reservations

It isn’t uncommon for folks to travel in a camper or recreational vehicle to Disney World, stopping at campsites along the way or in the surrounding areas. If you’re planning to camp at a Florida state park campground, you can book reservations up to 11 months in advance if you’re a Florida resident, and 10 months in advance if you’re an out-of-state resident.

Now, though, you’ll just have to provide the number from your Florida ID card or drivers license in order to book.

HB-425 — Move Over Law Expansion

Florida’s Move Over Law requires drivers to move into another lane (when safe to do so) to make way for law enforcement, emergency workers, sanitation crews, tow trucks, construction vehicles and utility service vehicles.
