There’s been a lot of divisive opinions around Disney’s Jollywood Nights after its opening night at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and we’re here to set the record straight based on our experience of the four-hour event.

Tickets range in price from $159 to $179 per person, depending on the date.

It’s a well-known fact that the first kickstart to Disney’s Jollywood Nights didn’t go as smoothly as everyone would have hoped, but there were some real high points. Once you see past the long lines and the rainy weather that literally put a damper on the party you can see the event for exactly as it was. Let’s start with the shows.

Mickey!

Most of the major shows were indoors or under cover from the elements so they were able to continue on with no time in between lost. Holidays in Hollywood impressed us in all the best ways and we were equally intrigued by What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along.

Oogie Boogie is here!

However, we did feel a bit let down by the outdoor experiences that we were able to see before the rain DID roll in which was the case for the Twilight Soiree held by the Tip Top Club.

Twilight Soiree

This outdoor jazz band featured live music and was hyped to be one of the headlining attractions for the event however, our experience left us feeling a bit deflated after seeing the party atmosphere held in such a small space by the exit for Tower of Terror ride and Tower Gifts.

So crowded

If we move away from the entertainment and look to the evening’s food and treats, well…. that’s a sore subject.

Long lines

Although there were a few things we enjoyed at the park and loved the idea of a few savory options, they just didn’t quite do it for us when it came to taste.

Additionally, we had a whirlwind experience visiting the exclusive dining experience at the Hollywood Brown Derby. The event had all the best intentions with this experience, but just seemed poorly executed and too busy for us to really enjoy.

The remaining highlights of the night were getting reacquainted with old friends (characters) we’ve not seen in years…

Phineas and Ferb

…and witnessing the return of Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! to round out our night and say, “That’s a wrap!”
