Maybe you’ve read all the books, watched all the movies, and even visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. But what’s next? Well, if you love going behind the scenes and learning more about how the films were created and the backstories of the people involved, there’s a new documentary coming soon.

Variety reports that Harry Potter film star Daniel Radcliffe has teamed up with his former stunt double David Holmes to make a new documentary, coming soon to HBO. The new film is called David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived and tells the story of how Holmes was tragically paralyzed during the filming of Deathly Hallows Part 1 after working with Radcliffe for seven movies.

During a set accident, Holmes broke his neck performing a stunt and was paralyzed from the chest down. The official HBO synopsis reads: “The film is a coming-of-age story of stuntman David Holmes, a prodigious teenage gymnast from Essex, England, who is selected to play Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double in the first ‘Harry Potter’ film, when Daniel is just 11. Over the next 10 years, the two form an inextricable bond, but on the penultimate film a tragic accident on set leaves David paralyzed with a debilitating spinal injury, turning his world upside down.”

The documentary features behind-the-scenes footage from Holmes’s stunt work, interviews with those who worked on the Harry Potter films (including Daniel Radcliffe), and candid personal footage. It will debut on Wednesday, November 15th at 9PM ET on HBO, and will be available to stream on Max.

It sounds like it’s going to be a very enlightening and educational film for those interested in the logistics of stunt work and the risks of the career. We’ll keep you updated with any more important details about this project.
