This Disney World Problem Isn’t Going Away. It’s Just Moving.

There’s one thing you’ve seen at Disney World for a while now, and it’s not going away anytime soon.

EPCOT construction

We’ve seen construction projects all over Disney World for years now, and since Disney recently announced a $60 billion expansion plan over the next decade, we can look forward to even more projects in the near future. These construction projects can really prove to be headaches for Disney and guests and that’s what we’re here to talk about because as the projects wrap up in EPCOT, they won’t be going away. They’ll just be moving to a new location.

EPCOT Transformation

EPCOT has been undergoing a massive transformation, and it’s been years since we got that first announcement way back in 2019. Since then, we’ve seen a new entrance plaza open…

…and so much more. But while we have lived with EPCOT being a construction zone for the past few years, we’re learning that the END is near! Disney announced that the transformation will be complete with World Celebration opening to guests in December 2023.

We can’t wait for the chance to walk through the middle of the park without those pesky construction walls in our way, and we’ll be interested to see what new additions like CommuniCore Hall and Plaza have to offer.

Speaking of construction walls, they’re not going to be leaving and never returning. No, no, no. they’ll be moving locations and finding their new home over in Animal Kingdom.

Animal Kingdom Transformation

Do you remember DinoLand USA? It’s that fun and quirky area in Animal Kingdom where it’s all about those dinos! Well, it’s official — DinoLand USA is being replaced and that means it’s time to get used to seeing those construction walls pop up over here.

There is also no timeline for this project and no official replacements have been confirmed, however, Disney recently teased us with concept art featuring Encanto and Indiana Jones lands. The latter would make sense when it comes to attractions since the ride Dinosaur uses the same ride system as Indiana Jones Adventure over in Disneyland. Again, nothing is confirmed, but we can look at the photos and imagine what will be.

In addition to those changes over in DinoLand USA, there’s going to be a new show coming to the Tree of Life Theater. Right now, it’s the current home of It’s Tough to Be a Bug, but soon it will house a new Zootopia-themed show!

If you’ve been in this theater recently, then you’ll recognize it from this concept art of the show. It looks like the new Zootopia version will also be in 3D and feature all of your favorite characters from the movie. There is also no timeline for this one, but we’ll keep you updated on any new developments!

As we said, those construction walls are here to stay at Disney World, so make sure you’re planning your future trips accordingly. In the meantime, keep following AllEars for the latest updates from the Disney parks.
